Amanda's POV
"Have you talked to Amy at all today?" Sarah asked as we got out of my car and entered the school. I shook my head.
"Unfortunately, no, nothing," I replied with a frown.
It's been a couple of days since the incident with Dillon and Jack and Jack is fine, although he did have to receive two stitches and had a concussion. His face was pretty bruised up. I noticed Amy wince every time she'd see him in pain.
She would frantically run around to make sure that he was alright despite his constant reassurance. I still don't like Jack, nor do I trust him. He hurt her once, he can do it again, and if he does do it again, I'll make sure to hunt him down and make his life a living hell.
Right now, Amy has been M.I.A for three days and when we do see her, she's quiet and distant. I'm not sure what's wrong with her but it's worrying all of us. She always tells us everything but something is bothering her. I'm curious to know what but I don't think anyone knows why.
I refuse to ask Jack or John if they knew, plus, I doubt that they do because if she hasn't told me, she hasn't told them two for sure. I thought it could be the fact that she got kicked off of the dance team right after the fight, Brianna had told me, but I don't think that would be the thing to affect her this much.
"Do you think she's ok?" Sarah asked with a similar frown. I shrugged.
"I can only hope that she is and if she's not, she'll come to us to talk," I said. Sarah sighed and nodded. We opened our lockers and grabbed our books to prepare for class.
I plan to skip today to go check on Amy if she doesn't come to school in the next ten minutes. She is always punctual since she wants the best academic record to get into college. If she's late, something is definitely wrong and it could be because of Dillon.
That fuckwit will get what's coming to him. I used to think he was great for Amy but I guess he showed his true colours once he got here and hurt the people around him in the process because even Sarah is still upset over the incident but she won't admit it.
I noticed Jack and John both walking up to us and I wanted nothing more than to walk away without speaking to them but I was curious to know why Amy wasn't with Jack considering they live in the same house.
"Where's Amy?" I immediately questioned. Jack sighed and looked down.
"Again, she locked herself away in her room and won't come out; I've tried everything and my mother and John have even attempted to get her out of the room but she won't budge. I'm getting worried about her," he explained. I looked over at Sarah, who glanced over with the same concerned look.
"I think what happened really affected her," John said. I nodded in agreement.
"I think so too, I think she doesn't want to face Dillon again after what happened with you Jack," I said.
"It's my fault this happened, maybe I'll try again to talk to her after school," Jack said.
"We can have a go at getting her to talk about what's bothering her," Sarah suggested.
"I'm sure she would want to speak to you two more than anyone," Jack agreed. He then looked over at me. "Hey Amanda, can I speak to you for a second?" he asked. Both Sarah and John stared with a raised brow.
"Uh, sure, I guess," I shrugged. I followed him as we walked away.
"What did you want to talk about?" I asked once we were far from earshot of the two. I crossed my arms and raised a curious brow.
"This is probably the worst time to talk about this but listen, I know you still don't like me, nor trust me, after what I did to your best friend a few years ago and I wouldn't either if I were you, but I'm trying to right my wrongs here, I'm sorry I hurt her and if I hurt you," he apologised, rubbing the nape of his neck. I sighed and looked down.
