THE ANGEL HAS A NAME
AJ's POV
As the distance between us closed, I began to sweat more than me running the 3 miles I had previously accomplished.
I was so nervous that I almost didn't even see the held out hand right in front of me. I don't know how but my body suddenly remembered how to work, shaking the hand in return.
I instantly noticed that the warmth radiating from the vibe she gives off was true in every aspect. Her embrace remined me of sitting by the fire wrapped in blankets reading my favorite book "To Kill A Mockingbird" in front of a fire with my mother's laughter heard faintly in the background.
I couldn't hold back my smile.
"Luna" she greeted with a sparkle in her eyes and a confident tone, "but most people call me Lulu."
As our hands parted, I stated, "AJ."
A smirk began to form on her face as she grabbed my hands and said, "well AJ, come dance with me."
I followed her immedieately in hopes she would never let go of my hand. It just felt right. However, once I processed what she was beginning to state, I pulled back slightly.
The motion made her body tork a little bit, facing me with a frown. The curiousity and disappointment in her eyes did not go missed by me.
She erased the frown quickly though, once again grabbing me by the hand, and pulling me over to the middle of the abandoned park where she was dancing.
I couldn't resist her charm and followed quickly after, almost tripping over my stupidly long shoe laces. I do not get why shoe brands make such weird length of shoe laces. They are always too short or too long.
Once my trail of thought came to an end so did our little walking excursion.
Luna let go of my hand, walking toward the speaker to put on a new song.
Mouse was know patiently lying down near the speaker. I tried to warn him with my eyes, " NO. Help me get out of the situation. You know I haven't been able to dance since..."
My heavily-needed conversation got cut off when Luna came back.
I recognized the song playing in the background. It was called " Do I wanna know?" by Artic Monkeys. The song gave me the vibe of sex. Raw and unfiltered sex. It was hot as hell.
In fact, I knew it so well, I used to dance to it.
I closed my eyes, slowly remembering the dance routine as I got lost in the song. Completely forgetting about my troubles, and, to be blunt, even Mouse and Luna.
"I forgot how releasing dancing can be." I pondered. My sweat once building up again as I reached some of the more difficult dancing moves the chorus of the song.
"Crawling Back to you.
Even thought of calling when you've had a few.
'Cause I always do."
Even after the song ended, for the next couple of seconds of silence, I simply basked, eyes still closed, in the raw joy I find from dancing.
I opened my eyes as my sitaution came to my mind once again. Reminding me of the many years it had been since I had danced like that as well as my audience.
My eyes opened to a gaping beauty and a sleeping dog.
" So..." Luna broke the silence, " Mute boy has a few dance moves up his sleeve."
"I am NOT mute!" i attempted to shout, but really just sounded like a whispering yell.
Ignoring my response with nothing but a giggle, she questioned, " Are you hungry?"
But my stomach's growling answered before I could answer myself. I laughed. "Maybe.."
As she rolled my eyes, she gently grabbed my shirt, forcing me to follow her. Turning her head, she stated "Come with me." winking afterwards.
Oh boi. AJ, you are so so very screwed.
