"Jiho, MBK just informs they're going to use the beat you send for DIA's new album. Heehyun will write lyrics for that track. They want to see you tomorrow for the recording." Zico's manager informed as Zico nodded.
*Tomorrow*
Heehyun were in the recording room finishing off her lyrics when Zico came in."Annyeonghaseyo." They exchanged polite greetings. Heehyun couldn't help but smile bitterly on the inside. She didn't want to face him, at least not right now.
They took their seats as Zico looked at her full of expectations.
"Have you finished your lyrics?" He asked, trying hard to avoid the awkward situation. He had the beat ready to be played in his phone. Heehyun had another quick glance at her lyrics and hesitantly took a deep breath. Usually she was the most confident when it came to showing her rap to the producer. But what was happening to her at the moment, she didn't know either.
"..." Heehyun started rapping.
"It's ok, keep going." Zico reassured her when she messed up in the middle. Though she kept going.
"It's quite good." Zico complimented as she breathed out with relief, not apparent to Zico of course.
They finished recording the song after two hours. It was 2 in the early morning.
"Can I talk to you?" Zico asked when the staff were all gone.
"Dae..." Heehyun replied hesitantly. She just wanted to avoid him as much as possible. It hurt her every time she saw him. Her heart was beating fast.
"You just disappeared for three weeks. Did something happen?" He had always been wanting to ask her since the day he found out she stopped making him breakfast. He felt something missing. It left him empty.
"No, nothing happened." She shook his head.
"You said you liked me. Every morning I wake up to wait for the breakfast you make and that little small notes you write. But for the past weeks there was nothing. And just two days ago I saw you with another guy..." Zico stopped right there. He started to think of the words came out of his mouth. He was jealous. He knew he was. He couldn't deny it anymore. He was developing feelings for her.
"Sunbaenim, I know I said I liked you. But I can't keep chasing something that is never meant to be mine. I just want to tell you one thing sunbaenim, if you truly love something, never let it go. Get Seolhyun back, she's the only one that's truly important to you." Once again Heehyun couldn't help but smile bitterly on the inside. She lost, since the very start. Why was she so stubborn? Why did she even think of confessing? Heehyun took her clutch and left Zico standing there thinking.
...
"Chaeyeonie, are you mad at me?" Zico asked. He had a tough time trying to contact Heehyun. So he decided to ask Chaeyeon for help. They were pretty closed friends. But it seemed like Chaeyeon didn't want to see him anymore after he had hurt Heehyun. He had the hardest time asking a friend out for a cup of coffee."What do you want oppa?" Chaeyeon pouted.
"Can you help me...contact Heehyun?" Zico looked at her hopefully.
"Oppa, Heehyun is not a replacement. If you want someone to fill up Seolhyun's place, go find someone else, Heehyun is not a toy." Chaeyeon said angrily. To her, he could have rejected the breakfast Heehyun made and said mean things so Heehyun could just get hurt then got over it. But no, he accepted whatever she gave. Why did he have to get Heehyun hopes up like that? And then went on live and became sad when someone mentioned his ex.
"I would never take Heehyun as a toy, trust me. I thought I couldn't get over Seolhyun. I thought I couldn't love again. But then Heehyun came into my life. Everything she did for me, the little notes she wrote, without it I just felt strangely empty. Then I saw her with another guy, I knew I was jealous. I... I've fallen in love with her. And I just want to make it up to her." Zico sincerely confessed. He knew he had to make it up to Heehyun. She was more precious than he thought.
"I swear, if you hurt her, I'll be coming for you!" Chaeyeon threatened.
