Into the woods

We stop just outside of a set of black heavy metal gates. Emmitt glides our effortlessly, and grabs my case from the boot of the car, opening my door I slam it shut and trail behind him, the trees are thickly coated around me, so tall that I have to bend my neck upwards. Soil, moss and earthly smells assault my nostrils, I inhale deeply, and stare around, what looks like a stone pathway leads my way.

We reach what I can only assume is the pack house, it makes me halt and with my mouth hanging open I gape, a wooden bridge leads towards a wooden two storey home, sitting on high beams, the windows were aglow with warm light, it reminded me of something out of a fairy tale story. Like maybe red riding hood or Snow White, I couldn't believe my eyes, it felt awesome just being in the presence of such beauty, the details carved into the wood, it was magnificent. I saw a tall shadow at one of the windows and wonder who it was, maybe the Alpha, or..... Chase?

Suddenly I slam into emmitt's hard chiselled chest, I let out an oomph, and nearly fall on my bum, but quick as a whippet he lurches forward and catches me by my arms. "Woah... easy there blondie, the outside is indeed impressive but maybe you'd be a lot happier seeing the inside instead? Come on il show you to your room, dinner won't be ready for a while yet, you can either eat in your room or we can go to the mess hall.... that's like a dining room."

I quickly rebalance myself and follow him up the Disney like bridge and to the front door. It was made of full length glass that you could see straight through, the handle was gold, but surprisingly warm. He pulls it down and slowly opens the door for me to enter. I gasp loudly at the interior. Inside was like a tv dream, a huge grey stone fireplace took up the chimney breast to the right of me, dark brown leather seats circled around a dark mahogany coffee table, books magazines and two candles lay scattered on top of it.

Wooden oak beams ran across the ceiling and a huge crystal chandelier hung low from the beam. Everywhere I looked wood covered everything, wooden shelves, wooden floors, wooden windowsills, the only thang that wasn't wooden was the Aztec rug laid on the floor, the fire roared to life as we stepped further in and I caught a glimpse of the kitchen. It too was covered in wood, wooden island, wooden sides and wooden cupboards. A long wooden table ran along one side and wooden high backed chairs ran around it symmetrically.

The rooms were all cast in warm light, I got the feeling of being content and at ease stood here in the centre of the room. Emmitt gestured with head towards the wooden stairs it's railing carved and surprisingly smooth, I ran my finer tips on the edge, as I ascended the stairs.

The hallway was long and old rock covered the walls from top to bottom, a cream hallway rug ran straight down the hallway, and dark oak floorboards peeled out from beneath it, oak beam ran across the ceiling here too, and another grand chandelier hung in the centre emitting a warm glow down upon us, solid oak doors ran along the walls, possibly to different rooms but Emmitt lead us all the way past them to the last one on the right.

He allowed me to open it and before I did, I inhaled deeply, closed my eyes and prepared myself, if the rest of the house was anything to go on, this room, where I would happily, hopefully spend the rest of my life adoring, would too exceed my expectations, with that I threw the door open, and stood like a fish out of water, mouth hung open to the image that assaulted my eyes.
