Flying high

I open my eyes to a golden glow surrounding me, I peek out of the window to see white fluffy clouds and a jaw dropping view, I've never been on a plane much less seen the sky from above always from the ground, I've always wondered what it would be like, how it would feel. And now getting that chance to take it all in, this is what heaven must feel like.

Light and floaty but with a calm and strong buzz emulating all around your body. Just then the FBI guy comes in and sits in the swivel chair opposite me. I realize that this was the first time I actually see him without his glasses on. I take in all his features starting from his dark, thick, trimmed beard, scattered along his jaw, his Greek nose, strong yet powerful, all the way up to his ocean green eyes, shiny, yet without tears, they were powerful but soft all at the same time.

While I had been observing him, he took in my appearance silently. He raises his eyebrow and states, "do I pass any standards? Or are you finding me lacking?.." I blush at his deep voice, he chuckles in response. "My name is Emmitt hardbrook..... I will escort you safely to the pack house, I am actually Beta chase's personal chauffeur and man-servant..... anything you need or anywhere you need to go just let me know and I'll be right there... any questions?"

I blink rapidly unable to form a sentence, so he's not chase black? More like a butler, questions swam around my head, trying to break free. "Are you a werewolf too?... why are you his butler? Do you like your job? Does he pay well? Is he a nice guy? Is he kind and patient? Or is he a terror?" The questions blurted from my big mouth. Instead of getting angry, he chuckles deeply and replies.

"Yes i am a werewolf, no I'm NOT his butler, I am his personal man- servant...... hmmm... ok then yes I see what you mean, yes I am his butler... yes I love my job, he pays very well in fact, I don't ever want another job as long as I have this one. Is he a nice guy?..... in my personal opinion...... yes... but here's the thing... he's not.... very fond of..... humans." Waving his hand over my form gesturing my human body. I frown confused.

He continues before I eat a chance of asking any questions. "You see he was taught to hate humans.... to be honest he didn't even want to have a mate, even a human one at that, but well he had no choice and besides the Alpha already has a mate, so it was his turn, this time around. Don't worry he'll be civil to you, as long as you stick to his rules, and do as he says, you two should get on fine. Now prepare yourself, we're about to land, the airport is just below us. Time for you to see your new home, blondie."

With that he buckled up and crossed one leg over the other, staring intently out of the plane window. My head felt like a hammer or at least a drum. All the answers banging inside my head like caged birds preparing for freedom. So he's a nice guy to everyone except my kind. How will he react when he sees me? I didn't expect him to run to me with open arms but to at least accept me, or even try to get to know me. Will he act like a monster? Only time will tell.

As we land and my stomach ones back down to earth, a sense of dread fills me, making me feel nearly sick as I feel it crawling up my throat. We weave around the people milling about at the airport, finally managing to make it to yet another black Mercedes with tinted windows. I climb in unsupported, and wait as Emmitt drives off from the crowded place. My constant demon weighing heavily on my shoulder as the scenery passes by and all that's left is forest all around us.
