I was lost in those eyes, those dreamy, perfect eyes.
"Don't worry about it" said a soothing voice in the distance. "I-I'm" I stuttered, coming out of the trance that those eyes had put me in. "I have a million other white t-shirts at home" the voice laughed, now attached to a figure.
A tall, boy, with the most flawless facial features, from his sharp jaw line, to his mysterious, ocean eyes, and with a mop of messy brown hair on his head, stood in front of me, with a large coffee stain running down his crisp, white shirt.
"Ugh, I can be such a klutz" I said while grabbing a handful of napkins from the dispenser, trying to get rid of the stain. "I'm so sorry. I-I'm" "it's fine" he smiled. "I'm Jacob, Jacob Anderson. But people call me Jake" "I'm Veronica" I said, looking down so he wouldn't see the blood rushing to my face.
"Can I get your number?" He asked "uh-um" my heart skipped a beat at the unexpected question. "Sure" I said through a smile.
As I wrote my number down on a piece of paper and gave it to him, a group of boys wearing maroon and gold letterman jackets, started to come over.
"Hey! Hey Jake!" Called one of them. "I gotta go. I'll text you!" He said as the boys pulled him away.
I headed back to Maddy, fully aware of my cheeks burning, my heart beating one hundred beats per second.
"Hey, you" she said through a smirk. "So..." I sat down at the table. "what?" I asked. "What's his name? What did he say? Tell me everything!" She said.
On the way home, I told Maddy each detail from the second I spilled the coffee, to when the boys took Jake.
"Wow" she said with a smile as we reached my white, two story, House. I know right!" I replied, pulling out my house key from my backpack.
I felt a buzzing coming from my pocket. I pulled out my phone.
Mom- 3 missed calls. It read.
"I have to go" I said through a sigh. "Okay, I'll see you tomorrow, V!" She yelled as she walked towards the two story, grey house, next to mine. "See ya, Madds!" I yelled back.
I walked up to my bright, red door, and inserted my key into the lock, but before I could turn the handle, the door burst open.
"Where have you been, Veronica! It's almost midnight! My mother yelled, her strawberry blonde hair in a messy bun, with a paintbrush sticking out of it.
"I'm so sorry" I said. "I was out with Maddy and lost track of time."
My mom sidestepped and let me walk through the entry way. "Just-just be carful please. You don't know what could be out there this late at night."
Walking up the stairs to my bedroom, I wondered what she meant. What could possibly be out there that would make her so worried? I thought.
I entered my room and dropped of my school bag in my chair, and noticed my brown and white pit bull laying on my fluffy, white comforter on my bed.
"Aw, hi Kaiya" I said as I put on an over sized shirt.
I grabbed my toothbrush and toothpaste, and headed towards the bathroom down the hall.
Onece I returned I climbed into my bed next to my dog, placed a kiss on her head, and closed my eyes, letting my thoughts wander aimlessly.
