yoongi wasn't on the bus today. where is he? i sat under the tree waiting for him, ari was trying to talk to me but i wasn't paying attention. i just wanted yoongi. i wanted to see him and make sure he was okay. i grew more worried as the bell rang to go to first period and he still wasn't here. i sat through class constantly looking over at the door, hoping he'd just walk in. and fortunately, he did.
"sorry i'm late" he said handing a late slip to the teacher, she dismissed him and he sat down at one of the desks at the front. he didn't keep his promise, he had bags under his eyes, i could tell he hadn't slept.
i stood up faster than i ever have before as the bell rang and walked over to his desk. he looked up at me and smiled faintly.
"you broke your promise" i pouted,
"hm?" he said confused,
"you promised me you'd sleep" i said.
he rubbed his eyes, "oh, i'm sorry" he yawned.

i pulled him up from his chair and we walked over to our tree planting ourselves under it. he looked sad, defeated. it made my heart ache.
"what's wrong?" i asked grabbing his hand, he squeezed my hand gently,
"nothing" he murmured. i frowned turning his face towards mine, his sad eyes stared into mine,
"i know you're upset, you can tell me you know" i reassured him. he shook his head,
"i can't" he told me, "i promise i will when i have the courage i just can't right now"
"yoongi.." i said sadly,
"you'll never see me the same, i'm not ready for that right now.. i-i've only just met you, i don't want you to hate me" he said tears forming in his eyes. i wrapped my arms around him, he buried his head in my shoulder sobbing. hate him? i could never.
"nothing could change the way i see you yoongi, nothing." i told him. "i wish you would just tell me, i want to make this better"
he pulled away, "i'll be okay" he sniffed. i stood up and looked up at the tree,
"can you climb?" i asked, he laughed as he stood up, a puzzled expression on his face. at least i got him to laugh.
"what?" he laughed, "why?"
i grabbed the branch above my head and placed my foot on the trunk of the tree,
"won't we get in trouble?" he asked,
i laughed, "they won't notice" i climbed higher up into the tree and gestured for yoongi to follow. we sat on one of the bigger branches, looking out at the buildings that looked smaller in the distance because of how high up we were.
"you can see everything from here" yoongi said, amazed. i nodded,
"are you sure you're gonna be okay?" i asked looking over at him.
"yeah i'll be fine, i promise" he answered.
i looked back over at the tiny looking city, "how many people do you think are down there?" i questioned. he shrugged,
"a few thousand" he replied.
"half of them probably made the same promise you did just now"
he grabbed my hand, looking at me concerned.
"please don't worry, i'll tell you everything soon" he told me.

we made our way out of the tree as the bell rang, yoongi got down first. i on the other hand was too scared to jump down.
"come on" he yelled,
"i-i can't" i said looking down at the ground,
"you got up there alright" he laughed, "just jump down"
the thing is though, getting up is the easiest part.
"come on" he said opening his arms "i'll catch you"
i reluctantly let go and jumped down into his arms, "see it wasn't that bad" he laughed.
"don't laugh at me" i wined blushing from embarrassment. that just made him laugh more which made me laugh,
"i missed that" i smiled,
"what?" he asked.
"you laughing" i replied. he smiled, his eyes forming into the crescent shape again, they no longer looked sad. i looked at him admiringly, this was much better.
