(STILL SADIE'S POV)
"Good night princess."
"Good night my prince."
It took a while for me to fall asleep. Niall stayed up longer to watch more of his movie. I could tell he was trying not to wake me up, but he wasn't very good at it. He would get up randomly and walk around the room and fix something out of place. He seemed extremely nervous.
"Niall what's wrong?" I finally asked.
He moved a picture frame over and turned to look at me. His expression sunk into a deep frown, it almost looked like he was ready to cry.
"It's the fans." he said, trying to look as calm as possible.
"What happened?" He handed me his phone.
Things like 'Niall get that nasty thing out of your life Sadie is disgusting.' 'who does this thing think she is? She's trying to take our man!!' and the worst, 'ha! Niall can't expect many fans what with his new management girlfriend!'
"They think management forced us together." he whispered, "they hate me."
"No they don't Niall. They hate me and what I have. They hate that they don't have you and I do."
"But I don't want you to go through that!"
"Well it's no better for me to have to see you worried about it, Niall! I can't stop them from saying such awful things, but I can stop myself from reading it or believing it for that matter!"
"I just hate what they're saying about you!"
"I don't like it either! I also don't want you to worry about me. Finish your tour, it's only a few more days. I will be fine. The boys will be there for you and you can always call me."
"I don't want you to get hurt." He finally looked up at me, sadness washed over his features.
"The only thing that hurts me is this."
"What does? Us?"
"No Niall." I held his hand for comfort,
"You getting upset over what these people are saying out of jealousy. That's what hurts me."
"Why do our nights end like this?"
"I don't know." I admitted, "I really don't know."
"Let's change that."
"I'm down. What do you have in mind?"
"How about everyday, we come up with a joke or something funny we did in the past and we tell each other before we go to sleep. and we can alternate the days to see who gets to tell."
"Sounds good to me, Ni. It would be better to laugh every night."
"Exactly so do we start tonight?"
"Why not."
"You can go tonight I don't have anything good that I can think of." he said shrugging.
"Okay, well one time in kindergarten, I told my teacher I didn't feel well so that I could go home."
"And?"
I smacked his arm. "you didn't let me finish. Anyway, she didn't believe me so I hid in a corner and put a whole cups worth of tapioca pudding in my mouth. Then when the teacher walked by my table I spit it everywhere."
We laughed for a bit before he spoke.
"You were an interesting child, Sadie!"
"Well hey I was tired and I wanted to go home! Plus this girl kept throwing crayons at me when the teacher wasn't looking."
"Did you spit on that girl too?"
"You know it!" I laughed.
"Alrighty tapioca, can I get a kiss?"
"Only if you win a round of hide and seek."
"But it's midnight"
"Phones have flashlights on them."
"Yeah but my dad is sleeping."
"That's why we will be quiet. C'mon live a little Niall, let's go."
I ran down the steps and picked my hiding spot. I sat behind his couch for a while. Niall shined the flashlight right over the couch, and he still hadn't found me.
"Sadie c'mon where are you?" he whispered.
I grabbed a pillow and threw it onto the reclining chair. I stifled a laugh as he quickly looked behind the chair. I heard his footsteps get closer and closer to the couch.
"Found you" he shined the light over me, "I will be waiting for my prize upstairs. I believe I won a kiss?"
"Ugh do I have to?" I joked.
"My dear, a deal is a deal."
"I suppose it is." I smirked.
I followed him up the stairs quietly.
Once I got into the room I kissed him quickly on the cheek.
"What was that?" he laughed.
"No one said I had to kiss you on the lips." I pointed out.
"Well miss Daunt, no one said I couldn't just kiss you anyway." he grabbed my hand and kissed my lips softly.
"Are you happy now?" I teased.
"Always"
"Can I go to sleep?"
"I suppose. I have to sleep for my plane tomorrow actually."
"So soon?"
"Yeah. I wasn't able to stay as long as I would normally want to."
"That's fine. Let's not worry about it now and just go to bed."
"I will wake you up before I leave."
"Sounds good."
I rolled over and finally got to sleep.
______
"Sadie get up."
I groaned and threw a pillow at Niall's face.
"Violence won't change the fact that we have to say our good byes now."
"No. Stay."
He brushed some hair from my face, and kissed my forehead. He combed his hand through my hair for a minute.
"I'm sorry but as much as I want to, I can't."
"I know. I understand."
"Good" he grabbed my hand and helped me get out of bed. I was way too tired and lazy to actually get up.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, and rested my head on his shoulder. He placed his arms around my waist, and pulled my body closer to his.
"Just try not to miss me too much." He winked.
"I could say the same to you."
"Touché"
"I know it's only a few days, but I will miss you." I confess, "that sounds weird, doesn't it?"
"No. It doesn't, because I will miss you too."
"See you in a few days then?" I asked.
"Yes. Then no touring for a long time."
"Well, let's get you on that plane so you can finish up your tour."
"Right." He kissed my cheek, "good bye Sadie."
"Bye Niall." I waved as he headed for the door. I wrapped a blanket around myself, and followed him down the stairs. He stopped at the front door and turned.
"Sadie?"
"Yes?"
"I love you."
"I love you Niall." I pulled the blanket tighter around my shoulders. I whispered quietly as he closed the door, "I really do love you."
A single tear rolled down my cheek. I watched him get in his car through the small peephole. He looked at the house one more time and took a deep breath. He nodded slowly and mouthed what looked like 'I found her'. He smiled and pulled away.
Another tear fell, I wiped it away and reminded myself it would only be a few days.
"He'll be back before you know it." Bobby set his hand on my shoulder.
"I think I should get some more sleep. I had a very late night."
"I know, I was in the kitchen when you two were playing hide and seek."
"Oh"
"It was pretty funny though."
"Yeah we had a good laugh. I will see you later on."
"Alright"
I walked back upstairs and into Niall's bedroom. I sat on the edge of the bed. I know that I'm still extremely tired, but once I'm up, I can't go back to sleep.
I got up and turned on the tv.
"I have to try." I crawled into the bed and closed my eyes. I ended up falling asleep after a while.
My sleep was short lived considering the dream that I had,
I was at one of the boys' concerts. I was sitting in the front row when Niall pulled me onstage.
"Tell us why you're dating her" Zayn asked into his microphone.
"Management." Niall looked down at his feet.
"Oh. Good for you. I hope you're happy." I pushed him to the side and marched back stage.
"Sadie!" he ran after me.
"No!"
"Sadie it's not about management
anymore!"
"You're right Niall. It's not."
"What are you saying?"
"Goodbye."
My eyes shot open. Tears were already falling. I cry way too much lately. I took a deep breath and walked into the bathroom. I wiped a tissue across my eyes, drying my tears.
"It was just a dream." I repeated that a few times as I splashed some water on my face. Niall had gotten upset over the same subject last night. I know he isn't the type to date someone for his career.
I walked out of the bathroom and down the stairs.
"Have a good rest?" Bobby asked from the kitchen.
"Um, yeah" I smiled. He looked at me for a moment. He gave me a puzzled look.
"Are you okay? You look upset."
"Yeah I just had a really crazy dream."
"If you don't mind, what was it?" I could tell he was stepping on egg shells at his own question.
I told him about the dream. His eyes widened when I said the part about management.
"I promise you that management has nothing to do with the two of you."
"I know. He's not like that."
"Exactly. I'd tell you if he did that to you."
"Well thanks." I chuckled.
"I have some grocery shopping if you want to come along?" He offered.
"Sure if you don't mind."
" 'course not. Go get ready."
"Alright." I ran up the stairs and into Niall's room.
I put on a black crop top and high wasted shorts. I grabbed some money out of my purse and met Bobby at the front door. I slipped on a pair of black converse and we headed out to the car.
"Let's go then." we got in the car and drove a few miles to the store. The ride was short, but the awkward silence between us was definitely not going unnoticed.
Bobby took me up and down different aisles picking out the things we needed.
"So," he said picking up a can of corn, "you and Niall?"
"Well yeah, obviously." I smiled.
"I'm glad he found himself such a nice girl."
"Thank you."
"How long have you been a fan?"
"I was actually in the UK when they were on the X-Factor. So, since day one really."
"Really? What did you come over for?"
"We lived here for a year, my family and I."
"Where did you guys live?"
"Bridgwater."
"Oh okay." He nodded and we walked over to the self check out.
"Sadie?" I turned around to see Luke standing behind me.
"Luke, what are you doing here?"
"Shopping."
"I meant why are you in Ireland?" my tone was harsh. Bobby placed his hand on my shoulder.
"To find you. I want you back. I overreacted and I realize that."
"Sadie, Niall's on FaceTime. He wants to talk to you." Bobby whispered.
I nodded and turned back to Luke.
"As much as you would love that, I've already moved on."
"With who? Niall?"
"What's going on Dad?" Niall asked over the phone.
NIALL'S POV.
"Dad? Why does Sadie sound pissed?"
He let out a sigh and turned on the back camera.
"Yeah Luke, you're right. I am with Niall."
She wasn't shouting. It was more of a weird aggravated whisper.
"Then where is he?"
"It's not your problem. I don't have time for this." She turned around and left him standing there in shock.
"Can you give Sadie the phone please?" I asked my father.
"Yes." The phone was jumbled around until I saw Sadie's face.
"Everything okay?" I asked her.
"Yeah, now it is." her bright smile flashed through the screen, " are you back at the hotel?"
"Yeah. The guys decided to stay at our original hotel."
"Awesome. How's everyone?"
"We're good!" They yelled behind me.
"Hi boys!" she greeted them with a laugh.
"Hi Sadie!" The boys shouted in unison.
"We're headed to the pool in a bit. That's why they're all lacking shirts." I laughed motioning to my band-mates.
The guys got into a random childish argument within minutes.
"What's this one about?" She asked, referring to the four lads behind me.
"Dinner" I scoffed.
"It's only 2 in the afternoon?"
"I couldn't explain their logic to you if I wanted to. They're some strange people." We laughed for a moment, then fell into an awkward silence.
"Do you have a show tonight?"
"Yeah we had to add a date. Only one though, so I should still get home when I had planned to."
"Well It's good that they aren't keeping you longer than originally planned."
"Yeah, I'm pretty grateful about that." I played with a loose string at the bottom of my shirt.
"I had a dream about you. It was a sad dream, but you were there." She shrugged shyly at her words.
"Why was it sad?" I asked her.
"The guys had you pull me on stage and tell me we were only together because of management."
"You know that's not true, right?"
"Of course" She smiled, sending a rush of relief through me. None of this has anything to do with my career. Being with Sadie was a very easy decision that I had made on my own the second I saw her.
"I would never do that to you - or anyone for that matter."
"I know. I trust you and I know you aren't the kind of person to lie about how you feel."
"Exactly. If I lied; saying I liked some one that I clearly didn't, I would be lying to them, myself, and even worse, the fans. I couldn't do something like that."
"Niall! Pool, let's go!"
"I have to go." I sighed.
"Okay, I'll talk to you later on then?"
"Of course. Bye love."
"Bye Niall."
I ended the FaceTime and put my phone in my pocket. "So where are we headed for dinner?"
"We decided to just get some McDonald's."
"Awesome. When are we heading out to the pool?"
"About now. Are you ready?"
"Yeah." I pulled off my shirt and threw it to the side.
We grabbed our towels and headed out. I took them down the stairs. Complaints were shared but I ignored them and carried on down the stairs. We reached the first floor and walked over to the pool area. We each set our towels and phones down at a table close to us. Liam jumped in first, then Harry, Louis and then Zayn.
"C'mon Niall!" Zayn called.
"In a bit." He turned back to the group and they continued on with a game of Marco Polo.
When I was sure they weren't paying any attention, I dried off a path to the pool and took a running jump into the water.
"Agh! Niall you ass!" Harry splashed a large amount of water at my face.
"Those are fighting actions!" I jumped up and pushed him into the water.
He caught me in a head lock when he resurfaced. He pulled me over to the rest of the guys, purposely dunking my head into the water on the way.
"Hey Ni!" Liam pried Harry off of me and pulled me to the side. "How's everything with Sadie?"
"Pretty good. Emotional, but things are going great."
"Emotional? How come?"
"Well, she was pretty upset after her and Luke broke up, then fans were extremely hateful towards her."
"Is everything okay now?"
"Going by our conversation on the phone, I guess so."
"Well that's good Niall. After tour, we'll have to make a day when we can all hang out."
"That'd be great actually. She likes hanging around you guys."
"Good to hear. We all approve. I know in the beginning it didn't seem that way, I'm really sorry about that."
"It's fine. Let's head back with the others." We swam back to where the other guys were hanging out.
They were over continuing a game of Marco Polo. Harry was wandering around the pool aimlessly, in search of the other two guys.
"Marco?" Harry called.
"Polo!" I shouted back. He went towards me but I jumped away in time. Liam was still left behind me, and was caught first.
Harry opened his eyes and began laughing.
"You're it Payno!" Liam rolled his eyes and went under the water, giving us time to spread out across the pool.
He came back up and the game had begun.
----
After a few rounds of Marco Polo, the five of us went back up to our room to get changed.
Once we were all dressed, we met up in the living room.
"I'll drive!" Harry offered.
"Sounds good. Are we all getting meals?" Zayn asked.
"I am." I raised my hand.
"Yeah I think we all are." Liam looked around the group and we all nodded.
"I could really go for a Big Mac. Let's go!" Louis grabbed his phone and headed for the door. The rest of us followed after him down to Harry's car.
I grabbed my phone from my pocket and went to my messages. I scrolled down until I found Sadie, which didn't take too long.
'Hey. How's everything back home?' I turned my ringer on and put my phone back into my pocket.
"Niall's texting his girlfriend on guys night!" Louis complained as soon as we got into the car.
"We didn't specify it as guys night. We're only going to McDonald's right now." I shrugged and my ringer sounded through the car.
'Everything's good here. What're you up to?'
'McDonald's with the guys. You?'
'Hanging out in your room, listening to some of your cd's. Nice tunes btw'
'Eh. I try.'
'My favorite is this nice little Justin Bieber CD.'
'Thought you didn't like him?'
'I don't. I just think it's funny.'
'Funny?' I questioned. I'm not sure if I like where this is going.
'Yeah. Do I have to worry about JB stealing my boyfriend?'
'No. I won't let that happen.'
'Good, though I could probably beat him in a fight.'
I laughed uncontrollably at her message. Everyone, except Harry, turned to look at me.
"What are you on about Niall?" Liam asked.
I took a deep breath. "Something Sadie had said."
"What'd she say?"
"She said she could beat Justin Bieber in a fight."
"Oh?" Zayn looked puzzled.
"Yeah. I don't know. She was looking through my CDs and we got on the topic of Justin Bieber." I shrugged and unlocked my phone to reply
'I bet you could if it came down to that.' I pressed send and locked my phone.
The guys were still looking at me.
"What?"
"You've been smiling and blushing for twenty minutes." Harry pointed out. The car was parked in the lot next to McDonald's. "At your phone might I add."
"And?"
"And how's she been?"
"Pretty good actually. Everything has been a lot better since we left the hotel."
"Has there been any hate towards her?" Louis asked.
"Yeah. We talked about it last night."
"How'd she take it?"
"A lot better than I thought. She said the only thing that upset her was seeing how much it hurt me."
"Listen man, it's going to happen to us and everyone we're involved with. I know how much it hurts. People still hate Sophia, though not as many as before." Liam assured me.
"I understand. I mean I care for her so it will still bother me a bit, but her and I know that you guys will be there to talk to."
"Exactly. Now let's get those burgers!" Harry shouted and got out of the car as fast as humanly possible.
We all chased him into the restaurant. A few people were taking pictures in the kitchen when we arrived. The girl at the register smiled wildly at Harry.
"Hi guys what can I get you?" She asked sweetly.
We put in our orders and I paid.
"How's Sienna, Harry?" The girl, Misty questioned.
"Quite well." Harry blushed just speaking about Sienna.
"You guys are a very cute couple. I definitely support you two."
"Thank you so much, Misty is it?"
"Yes. You're welcome." The two got a picture together and she then asked for one from the rest of us. We all agreed and took the picture with her. Misty thanked us and we soon got our food and left.
"She was really nice." Harry commented as we got into the car.
"Proof that not all fans hate our girlfriends." I added.
"Now you're getting it Horan!" Zayn cheered.
We laughed and got started on our food.
SADIE'S POV
I set my phone down and put Niall's CD back on the rack. I walked down the stairs to be greeted by Bobby.
"Greg and Denise will be back for dinner again tonight. I told him no questions this time." He winked.
A chuckle escaped as I made my way into the kitchen."What's for dinner then?"
"I'm thinking that turkey we bought. Want to help me get everything ready?"
"Sure. I'll take car of side dishes?"
"Perfect!" He cheered. I set everything down on the counter and immediately got to work on the food. There was zucchini in the fridge- fried zucchini. We had just bought some corn, so I decided to make that as well.
"What do we have here?" Bobby asked as he walked into the kitchen. The zucchini was already in the pan with all of the seasonings.
"Fried Zucchini and corn."
"Ooh." He nodded and took the turkey out of the fridge. He quickly prepared the bird to go into the oven. I finished prepping the zucchini and put it in the pan. My phone screen lit up beside me. NIall's picture flashed across the screen. I opened the facetime a propped my phone up on the counter against the wall.
"Hey weirdo." I smirked. He pouted playfully before smiling wildly.
"What're you up to princess?"
"Helping cook dinner. I'm in charge of side dishes." I waved a spatula around in my hand.
"What are you making me?" He winked.
"Fried zucchini and corn. Your dad's taking care of the turkey. Unless you get on a plane really quick, you don't get anything sir." I teased.
"If I didn't have a show tonight, I'd be halfway there by now." I laughed, unsure if he would only be here for the food. I knew he also meant that he wanted to be with me. I wouldn't let him leave for me now, he has fans to see tonight. He needs to worry about making them smile. I'll be just fine with his family for a few days.
"When your tour is over, I will make this all again so you can have it." His eyes lit up, Louis popped his head into view.
"Can we get some too?" Lou asked.
"Of course, I don't think we could finish a whole turkey with out you guys. My whole family can't even get halfway on Thanksgiving."
"How big of a turkey did you have?"
"More than enough. Turkey sandwiches get really tiring to eat."
"Damn."Liam commented. I laughed at their surprise.
"I'm going to have to try changing that next time around." Niall had a confident look on his face.
"Nice try, I don't think that even with you we'll have a shot at finishing a whole turkey in one night."
"All five of us then?" Liam asked.
"I would have to ask if you guys could come when it comes around. If so, then yeah, we might finish it."
"Might? Are you doubting us?"
"No, I'm being realistic." I smirked. I know that I have now provoked them into proving me wrong.
The zucchini and corn was ready shortly before the turkey had also finished. Greg and Denise had already shone up. Theo sat on the kitchen floor behind me playing with a toy car.
"C'mere little man." I picked him up and placed him on my hip. I made sure that we were far enough away from the stove, so he didn't reach for anything and get burned.
"Theo!" Niall cheered. He started laughing and smiling. Theo reached for my phone.
"No, no baby." I moved the phone a bit to the left. "Look at uncle Niall, Theo!"
"Hey buddy!" Niall greeted. Theo waved and blew him a kiss. Niall pretended to catch it, making him laugh.
"He misses you!" I smile at my boyfriend.
"I miss all of you already." He replied solemnly.
"Don't worry, we miss you too. The tour will be over before you know it."
"I can't wait for the food you've promised me."
" I can tell. I don't think the rest of the guys can wait either."
"Guess not. I'm just jealous because they get to sleep in their own beds when we're in London."
"Niall stop stressing about being gone. Everyone's good back here, and we want you to continue this tour to make your fans happy."
"Alright. If you insist." The guys shouted indistinctly in the background. Theo wiggled in my arms in an attempt to return to his cars on the floor. I set Theo down and returned to my phone.
"I have to get back to your family and dinner, so we'll talk later?"
"Sounds good. I love you."
I blushed, causing him to chuckle. "I love you too."
I put the corn and zucchini onto four plates and on the tray of Theo's high-chair. Bobby did the same with the turkey. He set Theo's tray in front of him, clicking it into place. I served everyone taking two trips to get everyone their food.
Bits of small talk was shared around the group. I just ate my food quietly, occasionally turning to play with the baby. Otherwise I just listened to the discussion surrounding me and shared a few thoughts. It wasn't all that bad really, I came to a lot of conclusions.
I never really did like Luke after all. When I had decided to date him, it felt wrong. It felt forced I guess. Like I was expected only to say yes. I also realized that even though things went no where near how had expected, I wouldn't change a thing. It brought me to where I am now. With Niall.
"What do you think, Sadie?" Denise asked. I jumped, dropping my fork. The metal clattering against the plate.
"Hm?"
"Maybe you and I could have a bit of a girl's day out?"
"Oh, of course! I'm sorry I was completely lost in thought"
"No problem, happens to the best of us."
I smiled at her. "So when are we having our little hang out?"
"Is tomorrow good?"
"Perfect!" We exchanged numbers quickly. She promised to text me when she is on her way.
Dinner was soon over. We all gathered in the living room to relax before it was just Bobby and I home. I looked at my phone. Countless messages from Luke showed on my screen. I decided to see what they were about.
Loads of messages saying things like, "I'm sorry about earlier." "please answer me." "I didn't mean to be a jerk" and other useless pleas trying to get me to fall back into his pitiful trap. I effortlessly blocked and deleted his contact. There was one message, thankfully, from Niall.
'how was dinner?'
'deliscious. What time does your concert start?'
'not for an hour or so.We're at the stadium now getting ready'
'then go do your job and stop texting me (:'
'no'
NIALL'S POV
'no' I smiled at my screen. Sadie wants me to focus on the tour, but I just can't seem to pay attention. I already know what they're telling us, it's the same thing every night. A pep talk and some final once overs.
"Niall. Stage, let's go." Zayn called. I nodded at him, grabbing my mic and shoving my phone in my pocket.
The track list diminished until we reached Little Things. This was admittedly the most powerful performance tonight. We each had someone special to sing this song for. Though we each would swear these girls were perfect.
Once it reached my solo, I put so much emotion into my words that I even began to tear up a bit. The guys all gathered next to me, each of them slapping an arm over my shoulders. We stayed that way for the entire song. The crowd cheered louder than ever after the final chords.
Once the show was over I went right for the tour bus. Harry followed after me.
"Good show tonight man." He slapped his hand on my shoulder.
"Thanks" I smiled half heartedly.
"C'mon, let's talk about it. The rest of the guys are going to some bar a few blocks down."
I nodded at my friend. Harry was definitely one of the first people I talked to while on tour. Aside from Liam of course.
"Where do we start?" I huffed.
"Little things. You really got into it tonight. Was that for her?"
"Yeah. I can't tell it still bothers her how she and Luke got split up."
"How can you tell?"
"I guess she just seems far off sometimes. Like she has so many things on her mind to figure out."
"Unfortunately everyone does. If we didn't; that would just mean we never found something worthy of caring for."
"I guess so. I just feel bad for leaving her back home by herself. I should be showing her around the cities and countrysides."
"You can't be everywhere at once, Niall. Plus I don't think your family will let her off alone."
"True. Once I get back I'm taking her over to my mum. I told everyone to keep them apart 'till I got home."
"Why?"
"It just feels like something Sadie should do with me there. It'll be nerve wracking meeting her Dad. Mums are to sons as Dads are to daughters."
"Protective." Harry continued.
"Exactly. If it freaks her out any, I would be much happier knowing I'll be there to calm her down."
"I understand, Niall. Sienna was shaking when she met my mum. She told me how she didn't want to seem like she had no manners or say the wrong thing. I had to hold her hand the whole time." Harry chuckled at his memory.
I could just imagine poor little Sienna shaking like a chihuahua in front of Anne.
"Sadie was perfectly fine with my Dad and brother, so I'd like to think she'd be alright with my Mum."
"I hope she will be." He slapped a hand on my shoulder.
