The next morning, Hoseok slipped out of his bedroom once again, just as the morning sun crested the hills on the north side of the castle, daylight just breaking through his slightly opened curtains.
The thought of having to beg for a map from this douchebag of a guard made him sick to his stomach, but having an actual MAP instead of having to mentally create one was too good an opportunity to pass up.
Against his prideful will, Hoseok dragged himself toward the North Wing of the palace, unsure of what exactly it would entail.
Probably the servants quarters or something of the sort, Hoseok mumbled to himself, stopping short as soon as he reached this fabled North Wing and his eyes scanned the engraving above the large entrance.
Defense and Protection
No. Way.
There was no way in hell that they would actually let him enter the MILITARY's headquarters, much less even find who ever this low life silver-hair was.
His body continued to pull him forward, his curiosity overcoming his usual caution, the echo of his shoes against the marble immediately drawing the attention of the guards whose reflexes were impeccable, swiftly crossing their spears to deny him entrance.
"State your business," one robotically repeated from the script he had no doubt memorized.
Hoseok breathed deeply, resetting his emotions and steeling his nerves, his now even voice speaking, "I was told to come see a man known as silver-hair this morning."
He could have sworn he heard one of the guards chuckle quickly, as the other lightly said, "Of course, sir. Right this way," gesturing behind him.
Hoseok clenched his jaw to keep it from hanging open as he followed the guard inside, the dedicated soldier inside him wishing he had some sort of weapon to wipe out the entire Anti-army right there.
He expected to be stopped about midway through, believing that this man surely could have been no more than a captain, and yet, they kept walking, the hall increasing in decoration and color, becoming grander with each step until they reached the end of the hall and a huge set of white double doors, inlaid with gold, A large "X" labeling the top of the set.
"Good luck, young man," the guard chuckled as he began to open the doors.
"I'm sorry, but what does 'X' stand for?"
"I'm sure if you don't know already, he'll tell you"
With those words, the strong man shoved Hoseok inside and closed the door lightly, revealing the bright red office of what Hoseok believed to be a high-ranking officer.
