Recipe for Magick

First, it is important to understand the difference between magick and magic. Magic is an illusion, whereas magick is changing your reality. So, why add the k? I have a theory it is because of the runic alphabet in which witches often use for magickal purposes. In this alphabet, "c" and "k" are the same character. Therefore, the runic (the witches alphabet) translation of magic could turn out to be "magic" "magik" or "magick". Us real practitioners add the k at the end to differentiate real magick from the illusionistic fake magick.

The following is the recipe for successfully conducting magick, but you must also include the fundamentals of magick.

1.) Raising energy. You can raise energy many different ways. You can summon energy from your will, or you can meditate and visualize raising energy. Dancing is a good way  to raise energy, or you can chant or play drums. You can do anything that feels natural to you to raise energy. I personally like to draw energy from the earth. To do this, first I clear my chakras and get into a meditative state. Next, I visualize a cord going from the bottom of my feet, or whatever part of my body is touching the floor, going into the ground to the very center of the Earth where there is neutral energy. Not only do I visualize the cord, I try to feel the cord as well. Everyone has a connection to the Earth, you just have to focus on it. Once you have established your cord that connects to the earth, you can begin pulling energy up through the earth similar to sucking something out of a straw. Imagine the energy creeping up the cord until it reaches your body. When you visualize the energy entering your body, try to feel the energy coming into you as well. You can also ask for energy from a spirit or deity as well.

2.) Directing energy. Directing energy is debatably the most important part of this process. Most grimoires you read will give you a spell, but fail to mention how to conjure energy for the spell or how to release it after. The "spell" part of a magical working is usually only directing the energy. For instance, if you were cursing someone and using a voodoo doll to do so, you would probably stab the voodoo doll and focus on feelings of anger. That can definitely work, because it uses sympathetic magick. But just stabbing a voodoo doll isn't enough, you have to first raise energy and then release it after you direct it. When you direct energy you are basically telling the energy what you want it to do, so once you do it, it will go serve it's purpose.

3.) Releasing energy. For me, releasing energy is the hardest part of the process. Once you have conjured and directed the energy, you have to send it off into the universe so it can do what you need it to do. Because of this, it is important you never use a salt circle. A salt circle is a neutral barrier and can keep energy from going out into the universe. You should feel the energy leave you. Once you have completed a spell of ritual, it is important you don't think about it anymore. You have to have faith, and ideally completely forget about it. At first this may be hard, if you do an advanced ritual that brings you to an elevated state when you're not used to that kind of thing it will seem impossible to forget about it, because at first those experiences will be life changing. Once you get used to it, though, it will be easier to make yourself forget about the ritual you did until you see the manifestation. The reason for this is that when you give your attention to a ritual or spell, it kind of pulls the energy back to you, and you need the energy to be out in the universe doing whatever it is you commanded it to do. So, if you do happen to think about a spell or ritual you did that you haven't seen the manifestation of yet, don't stress about it. Let the thought float by, but don't give it more acknowledgment than necessary.
