Chapter 11

Hiiii guys, I'm so sorry about the late update, I've been doing work experience at a school and they've given me marking and work to do for the classes so I've been far too busy!!

Lola's POV

I woke up to the soft humming of the radio, and the sun squeezing through the curtains. The white, fluffy duvet that surrounded me was too warm to get out of so I turned over to find a tray full of pancakes and fruit next to me, a note lay beside it.

Morning Lola, I hope you had a good sleep in my bed! I thought I'd let you sleep in and get some rest before the big performance tonight, I've let your manager know where you are so just come to the arena when you're ready.

I smiled at the note and grabbed my phone to see what the time was. As soon as I saw the time I dashed up, grabbed my bag and phone and raced into the bathroom. It was already past two o'clock and the dress rehearsal started at three! Harry had left some money for a taxi so I ran to the front door to call one when I saw a few cupcakes laying on the worktops in the kitchen. I walked up to them and realised they were the lemon ones I made the night before, for my mum. I took them and left the house, Harry's house wasn't far away from the cemetery so I walked slowly, not caring about the time.

I got closer to the gates and I was just about to enter until my phone rang. Harry was calling.

"Hello." I mumbled, I really didn't want a conversation with him before seeing my mum, it would only add fuel to the fire that was already burning inside of me.

"Lola, oh good, yeah she's answered." I heard him whisper.

"Are you ok? How long will you be?" He asked.

"I'm fine, just tell Dani I'm visiting my mum and I'll be there in 30 minutes."

"Oh, ok, I'll let her know. Do you want me to pick you up from her house so it's quicker than a taxi?" He asked me, I needed to tell him sooner or later.

"No, it's ok, I'll just walk." I heard the phone being passed over to someone else.

"Lola, are you ok honey?" It was Dani, sounded more concerned than usual.

"Yeah, uh, I'm fine. It's mums birthday so I'm visiting." I told her, a tear escaping my eye.

"Oh gosh, ok, stay strong Lo, show her how strong you can be. She'll be so proud." I heard her sniff at the end.

I hummed back in response.

"Do you want Harry to pick you up, he's stood here waiting for your reply." She whispered. I smiled at the thought of him, leaning over the phone.

"Yeah. I suppose so, just let him know I'm here, he'll know where it is."

"Ok babe, just remember to stay strong. Ring me back if you need anything and wish her a happy birthday from me." I could feel the smile in her tone and I quickly said my goodbye.

I walked straight to the back of the cemetery to where my mum and dad both laid, I took a seat in front of them, took out the cupcakes and greeted them both.

"Happy birthday Mummy." I whispered. I sat in silence, taking in all of my surroundings and I let the tears finally escape from my eyes. All the pain and anger that I'd kept hidden escaped. The pain of their death, the pain and anger of the cancer taking over me and the pain of falling in love with Harry Styles. Everything joined together at once and left me at once.
