I arrived in Salt Lake before the guys did. Actually, I was there while they were still in Vegas. I wandered around for a while, waiting for Yanni to let me know they'd made it to the fairgrounds. He and Jinxx were the only ones who knew I was coming. My all access and pit passes had arrived the first day of the tour, so I could just walk up to the gate when I got there.
Late that night, I got the text saying they were close. I knew I should be asleep but I was excited about surprising Ash. However, I was able to go to bed before I became too exhausted. Jinxx called to let me know when their set and signing was the next morning.
Once I'd showered and dressed, I logged into the Alt Press Instagram account. I snapped a quick selfie and let the fans know that they could follow the action all day via our story, there and on Snapchat. Then it was time for my first Day in the Life video.
"Hey guys, Bella here! Fresh from the shower and almost ready to head out for our day in Salt Lake. As you all probably know by now, I'm dating Ash Purdy from Black Veil Brides. And he has no idea that I'm her today. So, if you happen to see me walking around, let's keep it on the hush hush. Stay tuned for a day in the life of a rock stars girlfriend!"
I posted it and headed to the amphitheater. The lines outside were super long already, but with my special passes I was able to go straight to the gates. I half expected Jinxx to meet me there, but it was Yanni's face I saw instead.
"Glad you could make it, doll." He said, hugging me.
"Thanks. Ash has no idea, right?"
"Nope. Jinxx and I have kept our lips sealed. He thinks you're doing a freelance photoshoot in New York."
I had to laugh at that. If he was tired, he'd be super gullible. As we passed people, some of them called out greetings or stopped for pictures. I made sure to tell them all not to tag me yet so they didn't ruin the surprise.
"Where are you taking me?" I asked Yanni as we wove our way through the crowds of workers.
"Back to the buses. They don't want anyone in this area until they get everything set up."
"Um... I wasn't going to surprise Ash until the signing later." I told him.
"Shit..."
Reassuring him that it was fine, we kept going. I'd just change my plan a little. I added plenty of photos to the story as we walked, and even shot another video.
"Ok, so due to miscommunication, this big lug is taking me back to where the buses are. I'd planned on surprising Ash during the bands signing but we're just going to appear out of thin air on the bus instead! Keep watching, and you'll see how it goes."
The area surrounding the venue was huge, but when we finally got to the buses, it was almost time for the gates to open. Bands were heading to their stages, and I caught a glimpse of Falling in Reverse as they exited their bus.
"Hey, Ronnie!" I called out, heading over to him. We'd been friends for a while but hadn't talked recently.
"What's up girl! How have you been?" he said, hugging me.
We spent a moment catching up, but he had to go. BVB's bus was a few docks down, and I could see Jake and Andy standing outside. Apparently, everyone was awake and Ash had been talking about calling me. And at that moment, my phone rang.
"Hello?" I said, pushing Andy's hand away from my ear.
"Hey babe. How's New York?" Ash asked, I could hear him from where I was standing.
"Pretty good. Super sunny and hot." I replied, leaning against the side of the bus.
"Yeah? That's about how it is in Utah."
He came down the steps and out the door, but still hadn't seen me. I tiptoed behind him before I answered.
"Yeah, I know that's how it is in Utah." I said.
He whipped around in surprise, then almost tackled me in a hug. Luckily, I didn't fall.
"What are you doing here?" He exclaimed.
"I was going to be here to cover the show for work, and figured I'd surprise you. New York was Yanni and Jinxx's idea."
"FERGUSON." He yelled towards the bus.
Jinxx appeared on the steps.
"Hey Bella" was all he said.
Ash accompanied me through the day until he had to get ready for their signing. Until I met him at their booth, I wandered through the other merch, stopping when something caught my eye. Luckily, I had my backpack with me. By the time I met the guys at their signing, I had a bag full of new merch, including some of theirs.
Fans went nuts when the guys walked in. But that was nothing compared to when Ash kissed me. That made them all cheer louder than I'd ever heard. Laughing, Ash sat down. Because there were only so many minutes during the day, they could only sign a certain number of things. As they got up to go get ready for their set, a bunch of fans came up to us and asked Ash and I if they could take pictures with us.
I'd never experienced this before, so I was a little shocked. But Ash just wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me into his side. Andy volunteered to be photographer. After they dispersed, we went to their stage. I had continued my vlogging through everything that had been going on.
"Bella!" I heard from somewhere behind me. I turned to find Nick on the other side of the fence.
"Hey, what's up?" I asked him.
"Your vlogs have been awesome! But take the rest of the day off. We've got plenty of stuff." He told me.
Which left me free to enjoy the guys set from wherever, which was side stage. While they did their thing, I noticed several signs being held up in the crowd. Reading them, I saw that they were supporting Ash and I. Waving to fans from where I was, they went wild. After the last not ended, they threw things into the crowd. Ash came back to me covered in sweat, and shirtless.
"Do you always take your clothes off when you're onstage?" I asked him.
"It gets hot out there. Plus, it's 90 degrees out." Was all he said as he put his bass away.
We all went back to the bus, collapsing onto the couches and chairs. Ash pulled me into his lap, trailing kisses from behind my ear to under my jaw.
"For someone who complains about the heat, you don't seem to mind Bella's" CC said from the table.
"Body heat is different than sunshine heat." Ash responded, his face in still in my neck.
Everyone groaned at him, and someone threw popcorn. I tried to shield myself, leaving Ash in the line of fire. Once he was sufficiently covered, they stopped and we all laughed. Kissing his forehead, I started pulling the pieces out of his hair, being careful with the singed parts. When I was done, he cuddled back into me.
We enjoyed the rest of the day just hanging out on the bus. Movies were watched, instruments were played. We all talked and laughed. At some point we went to Catering and ate with the rest of the bands. Ronnie came over to hang for a bit.
Since the guys only had one show left, in Denver, I stuck around. No point in going home, and I really didn't want to just yet. Not when it's the last Warped Tour. I fell asleep with Ash curled around me, his body heat mixing with mine.
