I sit myself down on the edge of Dillon's bed. I take in a deep breath and let it go slowly.
"Well, let's get this shit show on the road." I breathe. Dillon rolls his eyes from the desk chair he's perched on.
"Come one, just tell me what you want." He huffs. I avert my gaze and chuckle softly.
"Okay, if that's what you want." I pause and lay down on my back. "It all started when my dad left suddenly around when I was 12 years old. No reason, no trace." I close my eyes and sigh. "I woke up to my mother screaming, crying, trying to go on with life but failing. She tried to make me breakfast, but she couldn't even get off the floor. I told her that I'd go get papa, but that only made things worse. She closed her eyes and let out the most pitiful scream I'd heard in my entire life. I was filled with sadness and I too was suddenly crying. I crawled over to where she was and held her in my arms. We cried with each other for hours upon hours. We were sure the neighbors would hear and call the cops. Like I said, I had just woken up so I didn't know what was going on, but my mom had been there when my dad was leaving. She knew. She was the only one who knew, but... she never told me the real reason. I could see it in her eyes when she said that he had to leave for personal reasons." I turn my head and groan. "This made me grow more and more upset with him, I knew my dad had run away. He's left my mom and me alone. We had enough money to get by and my mom still had her job, but it was the fact that he left. It couldn't have been because of my mom because they were madly in love." I let out a small chuckle. "You should've seen it, they were so cheesy. But," I pause and open my eyes slowly. "That clear fact made it all too clear why he left. The real reason he left was because of me. I never noticed it before, but all the signs were there. He would look at me strangely sometimes. He would always check on me like I was going to do something bad. I never understood until then. I spiraled into depression. What I thought was a perfect life was broken to pieces. It was like a favorite vase that you cherished, then someone comes along and just pushes it off. I thought I was a monster, I thought all these bad things about myself. My head was filled with evil and I wanted to think of a way to take away the pain."
"No," Dillon whispers. I peek at him through my lashes and furrow my brows.
"Yea, probably what you're thinking. I wanted to commit suicide. My father hated me and I broke up the happiest couple I'd seen. I was heartbroken, hurt, disgusted, I wanted it all to end. I remember the first time I looked at a shaver as more than just a regular old shaver. I broke it so I could get to the blade. I wanted to cut my wrists so bad. I wanted to cut into my skin and see the blood pour out. I wanted all the pain, hurt, depression, and fear to bleed out. Before I could do anything too serious, mom found me and grounded me for 3 months. She also sat down and talked to me every day to make sure I was doing okay. She became my rock. She became this person who I saw as more than a mother... she was my saving grace. That's probably why her power is healing. She can heal people mentally, physically, anything really. Of course, she has a limit like I do, but what she does is for the better good of humanity. Anyway,"
"What's your dad's power?" Dillon blurts. I suck in a deep breath. Well, this is something I've never told anyone ever.
"I don't think you're ready for this one." I tease. Dillon shakes his head. No, but really, this one is a dosie. I've never told anyone in my life that I even had a power. Let alone that both my parents do. My mom has the ability to heal. She can heal just a simple cut or heal someone who's on the verge of death. But once they're dead... she can't bring them back. My dad, on the other hand, could bestow someone else's power unto another person. Like... let's say that there is a killer, and they have the power to be invisible. If they're using that power for evil, my dad could take it away and give it to someone who would use it for good. This power was given to him by my grandfather though... So my father was born with a power that no one knows about, probably except for my mom.
