I quickly pull off my vest and hang it up on its rack. My heart is still rapidly beating in my chest and I wish it would just stop. I feel like my heart is screaming at me, telling me to find out what exactly went on in the arena. Why had Dillon kissed me? My heart throbs in my chest and I reach up and clutch my shirt.
Maybe Dillon just wanted to kiss me for the same reason I would kiss him. His mind might be in the same place mine is, having sex with people and then leaving them for someone better. The one thing I don't understand is why he would kiss me out of all people. Believe it or not, I'm not that pretty. I have big eyes with long thick lashes. My eyebrows are dark and my nose is quite small. My lips are bigger than most girls so is my frame. Maybe he thought I was an easy target.
I lift my eyes to the door that leads out to the slope. Should I try to sneak out or...
"Olivia? What are you still doing in here?" I whisk my head around to see Katie leaning up against the wall. "Shouldn't you be heading out with Dillon right now? He's already outside." Katie jerks her thumb towards the exit and I wince.
"Y-yea," I mumble and roll my shoulder. Katie nods and walks with me to the main room.
"So, why are you so uncomfortable at the mention of Dillon's name?" Katie blurts once we're near the entrance. I let out a breath I hadn't known I'd been holding and look at the ground.
"Well... something happened in the arena..." I trail off as Katie's eyes widen.
"What do you mean something happened? If that dork did anything bad to you I swear I'm going to beat his-" I put my hands up in front of me and shake them wildly.
"N-no! He didn't do anything wrong... he just... confused me..." I whisper the latter to try and conceal it, but Katie hears me anyway.
"Confused you?" She repeats. I nod slowly and absentmindedly reach up to touch my lips. I catch myself in the act and instantly place my hand by my side. When I look at Katie, her eyes are wide and her lips are parted in a circular 'o'. "That mother fucking idiot." She mutters under her breath. "You're so telling me about this later when it's just Sam, you, and I." She narrows her eyes and I nod sheepishly. I could never deny Katie, she'd kill me.
"So... should I go join Dillon is his car?" I ask, not meeting Katie's gaze. I feel her hand on my shoulder and I peek at her.
"Only if you want to, I know you're the type of girl that wants to figure out the motive behind the action, so I'll leave you to it." Katie then pushes me out the door and into the brisk night air. I wince as the cold air surrounds my bare stomach. "Dilly~ Olivia is finally done so we can all head back now." Katie sings with a happy smile. I awkwardly look at Dillon, who doesn't meet my look. That movement, or lack of, makes my heart fall from its high.
"Yea, I'll just ride with you, Katie," I mutter, but I feel a hand wrap around my wrist.
"Whoever said that was an option?" Dillon asks, his eyes burning into mine. I widen my eyes as Dillon pulls me towards his body. "Get in, we have some things to talk about." He unlocks black beauty and I silently walk over to the other side of the car. Before I get in, I see Dillon look at me from over the hood. I shrug his look off and slide into the car. I'm met with warm air and I let out a breath of relief. The warmness of his car makes me feel so happy inside that I can't even explain the feelings racing through my body.
"Bye guys! Cya when we get back to the house!" Katie waves her fingers at us and Dillon nods curtly in her direction. I stiffen when Dillon ducks into the car.
"So," He starts, once the key is in the ignition and he pulls the gear into reverse.
"So?" I repeat. Dillon glances at me and shakes his head with a small smile.
