Chapter 2: Euphoria

Jefferson's POV

After I assigned everyone at there respected areas of responsibility, I went to the auditorium to help the others to finish the design.

"Pres" Marvin called my attention. "Are we going to put a rainbow at the center? Or just glittered papers with different colors?" He asked. I thought about it before answering, "The glittered papers is much better but we're going to arranged it like the rainbow." And with my response, he went back to work.

I was thinking about the new Secretary. Something about him makes him different from the others. Obviously he is Gay, but he tends to be normal like he's not pretending to be straight. Not like someone and by means of someone, it's me. I found out about my sexual preference when I was 11. I was in my Elementary years and my classmates have their girlfriends or boyfriends already. During that year, there was a girl named Angel who always wants to be my girlfriend but I've never been attracted with my opposite gender.

Stepping up to highschool, I began to notice around the campus that there are people who are in the same gender but goes out on a date and that hits me right.

I went home and finish my assignments. Being the only son of my family, makes me so nervous specially when my parents expected the best out of me. They always asked me about my lovelife, who's my crush and that. I just answer them with the answer they want to hear everytime they ask about it.

I have a girlfriend though. She doesn't know I'm gay because I never said it to anyone except for my bestfriend who's name is Nicole.

I texted Angel, my girlfriend OMG I cringed at the thought.

Hey, are you sleeping already?
(9:25 PM)

No, I'm still waiting for you text me baby. (9:27 PM)

Okay well I'm going to sleep now. Keep safe angel. (9:27 PM)

With that my eyes shut down like my laptop did.

I woke up in the morning at 5 AM. Most of the people during this period of time are still in bed right? Who wouldn't want to be in bed at 5. Anyway, I prepared myself for school. Taking a shower, ironing my uniforms then preparing my bag and school materials. After, I went to the kitchen and eat breakfast together with my parents.

I have Sunnyside Egg and Hotdog in my plate. "So Jeff," Mama spoke "how's the launching at the school?"

"It's going great actually. And tomorrow is the launching day of our program this year so hopefully that will be successful." I answered.

"How about your girlfriend?" Papa asked.

"She's fine." I answered with a not-so-interested-at-your-question tone.

After eating I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and then put my shoes on and walk to school. The Uni is just 2 blocks away so no need for me to ride a tricycle or a Jeep. I walked out of the gate and made my way to the campus. It's already 6:44 AM and classes starts at 7:30 AM so that means I don't need to hurry. As I was walking along the road, I noticed Clev walking in the same direction as me so I called his name.

"Clev! Clev!" He turned around and stop walking. I lightly jog my way to him and meet him. "Good Morning!" He greeted with a very sweet smile. "Good Morning too," I returned the greetings. "Are you on the way to school?" I asked and he nod. "Can I join you?"

"Sure. Do you live around here?" He asked.

"Yeah. I've been here all my life." And we started walking.

"Are you a new student here at the Uni? I've never seen you around here before." I said.

"Yes I am. I came from a small town, me and my parents thought about me going here at the Uni for a better Education."

"That's nice. What strand are you in?"

"I'm currently at the Humanities and Social Sciences. How about you?" He asked back.

"I'm taking the same strand. Maybe we don't have the same schedule of classes?"

"I think so. Well anyway, I've got this finished late at night yesterday. Good thing that Danny helped me through out the whole arrangement thing." He handed me a folder.

"Thank you Clev. Well better get used to it cause that's what you're going to do for the rest of the year." I said smiling at him.

We reached the campus and we separated ways. "Are we in the same building?" I asked him, hoping to say yes.

"I guess not." He responded slightly sad. "So tomorrow's going to be a big event huh?" He asked. And I just nod and laugh and said "I'll see you around Clev." I said as I went to the left side of the pathway.

"Hey, I never got to know your name?" He shouted lightly. "Jefferson Gray. But you can call me Jeff." And by that we went to our different classrooms. But I didn't went to my room directly. I went to the Guidance Office to make a request form that asks for approval so I'll be able to be with Clev at the same classes.

I gave the form to the teacher infront which is Ms. Daisy "Why do you need to transfer now Jefferson?" She asked as she look at the form. "It's also a personal reason which makes it private." I joked at that and she laugh lightly. "Okay then. I'll make sure this will be approved by the dean tomorrow but right now, you still have the same classes."

It's already lunch time and I'm waiting for my bestfriend so we can eat lunch together. After a few minutes later, she arrived with the person who easily entered my mind. "Sorry to keep you waiting Pres. I believe you two didn't have proper introduction, so Clev this is Jefferson but we call him Pres, Pres this is Clevander but he prefered to be called Clev." She pull our right arms and made us shake hands. I noticed his cheeks went pinky at my touch. "So where are we going to eat?" Clev asked. "I wanna go to Jollibee." Nicole said with a whiney voice.

After ordering our foods, we sat around the table, eating our foods silently. I got a Chicken Joy with rice, and my favorite Strawberry float. And apparently, Clev also likes this drink while Nicole got a a coke float. After eating, we went back to the Uni taking my last period in the afternoon, which is a subject teached by the one and only, Ms. Daisy.

"....and that is how you do it. Now, for your assignment, do a quick research of how the Philippine Government handle this kind of event." She lend us a piece of paper that holds the instruction of our assignment. "That would be all for today class, Goodbye. And Jefferson please get your request form after your meeting." I nodded and she walked out.

I made my way to the Auditorium to meet my colleagues. Danny handed me the T-shirts that we're going to wear for tomorrows event. "Okay. Good afternoon everyone. So tomorrow will be the launching day of our program this year, I hope everyone will get to know the importance of what this event symbolizes. Now, we have this customize T-shirt made specially for this event. So please get one and then pass it to the others." I handed them the bag and they picked their T-shirts.

After that, I went to the Guidance Office and get my request form and went home and I made my assignment. I supposed to be confident about giving speeches but this year will be different. Clev's gonna be there and he's going to listen to my speech. TO MY SPEECH!
