Rin pov
After I watched Yukio being carried off in the ambulance, I began to make my way over to an old friend's house. Shima Renzo's parents and my parents were very close ever since highschool so, when Shima, Yukio and I were born, the three of us were raised like siblings. However, after my mother died and father went crazy they moved to the other side of town to keep little Shima safe. Yukio and I would run into them sometimes at the local market.
All they ever talk about is how much they wished they could have taken us with them and how sorry they were for not contacting authorities sooner. We'd catch up with each other and wind up talking for quite a while longer than preferred, and would also join them for dinner on the occasion. This of course would result to a bitter beating when we got home. But that didn't bother me in the slightest because when I was with them I felt the true love of a real father and the familiar love of a mother. This feeling kept me from snapping after every beating.
I jumped out of the tree I was in and walked up to their front door. The warm light and soft, tinkling sounds of the family's good times spilled from the windows of the residence. It was in perfect resemblance to the warm, welcoming people inside. I walked up the steps and rang the doorbell. The soft sound of a ringing bell sounded, followed by the clatter of silverware being placed on the table and a familiar voice calling out, "I'll get it!" Surely enough a pink haired Shima opened the door with a huge goofy smile.
"Hello, how can... I.... help..... you?" his voice trailed off when he saw me.
"...R-Rin...Is that really you?"
