Pack your bags because we are moving to California, those words swirled around my head for so many reasons. I felt like I was gonna faint.
"Your mother and I have already found the perfect home for us, you'll even get your own room so you don't have to share it with your two sisters."
Those words made me happy, I have been sharing a room since I was probably three or four. When my little brother came along, I had to move in with my sister, then my other sister came along and she moved in with us. Not very fun.
But now we are moving and I will get my own room, but I will be leaving everyone I know and love. I've always had a special bond with my cousin who is just a year younger than me, and my best friends have been my friends since sixth grade. Feels like forever ago. But I feel like I'm ready, and I can always keep contact with everyone, and maybe we could visit each other once in a while.
I immediately ran to my room, there was already a suitcase laying on my bed, so I got straight to packing.
Packing took a lot longer than I thought it would. It took about a week to pack and now we were loading everything into the moving truck. It was actually happening, we had, had a party at our house with friends and family, for a final farewell, lots of tears were shed that day. I hopped in the van and it was time to go.
The journey took seven hours, the longest seven hours of my life. My brother got plane sick, and I felt nauseous the whole time, my sister was listening to music, my other sister slept, and my parents did some adult-ing.
When we finally arrived I couldn't believe my eyes. It was beautiful, I was so excited. When we arrived at the house, I couldn't believe I was gonna be living in it, it was two stories, but it seemed huge to me. My parents showed me to my room, and again I couldn't believe I was going to be living in it. It had a window seat, a nice closet, a bathroom, and such a nice space. My window looked out to the neighbors window, it was late, so the curtain was closed, but I saw movement inside. We started moving into our rooms, and I finished mine in two hours, I was way too excited.
When I got downstairs my mom was fixing the kitchen, the living room was already finished, and so was the dining room. My parents also said that we were gonna have a gaming room, and give me and my sister our own offices, this was so awesome. My dad was working on my parents room, and my siblings were working on their rooms. I asked my mom what to do with my office and said my dad had already fixed up the basics- bookshelf, desk, cabinets, etc. So all I really had to do was put my things where I wanted them.
I asked my mom if she needed any help but she declined the offer. So I asked who our neighbors were, and she said we were going to be meeting them tomorrow. She told me to go get some sleep so I'm well-rested tomorrow for when we meet them, I agreed that, that would be a good idea, so I went to bed.
