A Dream Come True

The New Neighbors

     I woke up at 9:27, and went downstairs. Breakfast was made, and I was surprisingly the last one awake, that never happens. My mom said to hurry up and eat and get ready because we were meeting our neighbors at 10:00. I grabbed some breakfast and ate it. It was really good. When I was finished eating it was 9:37, it took me ten minutes to eat because I didn't eat a lot.

     I ran upstairs and got dressed in my favorite outfit- black stretch pants, a black sweatshirt crop  top-ish shirt (lol) that had the word queen on the arm, I put my hair in French braided pigtails, and wore my white converse with black ankle socks. I felt better than ever. I was super excited because I had the whole summer to explore California, school just finished two weeks or so ago. 

     We had two neighbors, one on each side of us, we went to the neighbors on the left of us first, they were an elderly couple, and were such sweet people. Our other neighbors were different, a women answered the door, and said that at the moment her husband was at work, and that she has two sons that were out shopping for supplies for a video they were going to be making, she told us that they were twenty and twenty two years old, not too much older than I was. She and my mother exchanged numbers and said she would let my mother know when they got back.

     In the meantime I checked out the pool in our backyard, I had never had a pool before, so this was amazing. I swam for a bit, then got out and got in the shower. It was nice, and when I was finished I decided to read a book. In the middle of reading the book, my mom said that the neighbors were back, I put my bookmark in, slipped it into the bookshelf, and ran downstairs, I practically jumped over them. We went to the front door and the women answered again. She said her name is Anne. She said her husbands name is Steven because he was not home to introduce himself. She welcomed us in and said her sons were fixing themselves up to meet us. 

     I was nervous and excited to meet them, maybe they would be my friends due to me being close to the same age as them. They walked down the stairs in perfect unison and I almost fainted. Standing right in front of me were my new neighbors- Collins and Devan Key. 

     I tried to play it cool the best I could the whole time we were over at their house. I took the risk and let them know I was a keyper, but I wouldn't be all obsessive and that I just wanted us to be friends, and surprisingly, they were cool with it. They asked if any of us would like to be in the video they were filming- my sister said no thank you because she was too shy, but I was completely up for the task.

     We went to there backyard and got set up, they told me that they were going to do the gummy vs real food challenge, and said that since I was going to be joining them, they were going to have two of us either get the gummy or the real food, and one of us gets the other. The video was a blast to make and a little gross at times, but we did it!

     Afterwards we all hung out and played some family games- it was a blast! When it was time to go home everyone exchanged hugs, and went their separate ways.

     Went I was done getting ready for bed, I remembered it was my birthday, I had completely forgotten! Who forgets their own birthday? I thought to myself before heading to bed, Oh well, I guess it's  just another birthday, right? But definitely the best. And after that, I drifted off to sleep.
