Solemates Forever: A Starr and Cole Romance

Episode 10

Starr woke up in Cole's arms. She jumped out of bed, believing that it was the fake Cole, Stefan.  

"What are you doing here?" Starr screamed at the real Cole, who was confused for a moment. 

Getting his thoughts together, he calmly got up out o bed, and went to calm Starr down. 

"Starr, it's okay. It's me, Cole. Stefan is in jail, where he belongs. I got in last night with Hope." 

Looking at him, she kissed him, realizing he was right. 

"Oh, Cole, can you ever forgive me?" Starr asked. 

"Sh-sh-sh! It's okay!" Cole holds her. "It's been a rough year for the three of us." 

Cole pulls Starr in for a romantic kiss on the cheek, then slides her blouse off her arm, rubbing her breast in his fingers. Starr pulls off Cole's black t-shirt, rubbing his chest with her hand. Cole lays Starr tenderly on their bed and begins to make love to her. They both enjoy a tender moment in each other's arms, giving into each other after two long years. After, they lay in each other's arms, enjoying each other's company. 

Suddenly, a loud noise comes from down the hall, almost from Hope's nursery. Cole jumps up out of bed, slips on his pants, and is outside the bedroom, while Starr fumbles to find her robe. 

By the time Starr arrives down in Hope's nursery, Cole is there, holding an unconscious Hope in his arms, trying to stop the bleeding from a gunshot wound. 

"Oh my gosh, Cole! What happened?" Starr exclaims. 

"I don't know. By the time I got here, Hope was bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound." Cole tells a frantic Starr. "I don't even know how she got shot?" 

Without thinking, Starr runs down stairs to retrieve her cell. Starr dials 9-1-1 and is on the phone with a dispatcher by the time she gets back up to Hope's nursery. 

"Yes, I need an ambulance, immediately." Starr informs the dispatcher. 

"What is your location?" the dispatcher asks. 

"123 Llanview Terrace, Apt 13." Starr replies. 

"Okay, Miss. We have an ambulance on its way." the dispatcher tells Starr. 

Paramedics arrive and knock on the door, where Starr is waiting to escort them upstairs and down the hall to Hope's nursery. The paramedics asses Hope's condition and manage to stabilize Hope's vitals. They put Hope on a stretcher carry her downstairs and out to the ambulance where she is placed on a gurney. Cole and Starr hop into the ambulance to ride with Hope along with a paramedic inside the ambulance, as the other paramedic hops into the driver's seat and turns on the siren and drives to Llanview Hospital, where Dr. Michael McBain is waiting for their arrival. 

As Dr. McBain is working on Hope, Alison Perkins, dressed as a nurse, comes out and escorts Cole and Starr out into the waiting area. She hands Starr insurance forms for them to fill out while they frantically wait for news on Hope. While Starr is filling out the forms, Cole is calling Starr's parents, Todd Manning and Blair Cramer, and his mother, Marty Saybrooke about Hope. Concerned, they inform Cole that they are all on their way to the hospital. 

Detective John McBain arrives at the hospital to question Cole and Starr and get their permission to go to their apartment to investigate Hope's nursery for evidence of the shooting. Cole and Starr gladly give John their permission and answer his questions. Afterwards, John gives CSU investigator, Natalie Buchanan, and his fiancee the news that she can head over to Cole and Starr's apartment to investigate any leads in the shooting. 

While Cole and Starr, along with Todd and Blair and Marty wait for news of Hope's conditon, Stefan, who is out on bail, courtesy of his grandmother, who felt sorry for him, watches a recording of Starr and Cole at the hospital. Stefan, laughing maniacally to him self, while muttering out loud to himself, "None of you will ever figure out that I was responsible for the gunshot that shot your little girl."
