A week later the entirety of heaven stood out of their homes, and the number of angels that merely existed shook Deisara. How could she have ever doubted their existence?

Everyone, the captains, and her team members were dressed in the armor of heaven. Silver and white glistened in the air, courtesy of the sun, but never blinded her. Each of them held a weapon of such intricate detail and visible strength that she thought whatever awaited them should run. Quickly.

Deisara raised her armor-cloaked arm and saw her own seraph, the only weapon weak enough for a human, granted to her by Raja, and saw her power run through the sides. Raja had once told her that every soul has a color, and that color is reflective in their power. Hers was a sky blue.

She looked to her sides. Alamir's dual swords shone a deep red. Tessela's claw swords were green. Mari's staff was pink. Heitaro's was gold. Gold? She would ask Raja about that later because, as she just discovered, there was not a lick of gold in heaven. Only on Heitaro. The thought made her stomach roll. Something was amiss.

Deisara nearly jumped out of her skin as she saw Heitaro look her dead in the eye. It was the first time their eyes had ever met. They were steely. Dangerous. She looked away before she could see more and she could have sworn she heard a chuckle.

She didn't have time to think on it much before the captains bellowed out the release. Lightning struck and the angels roared. she felt herself yell with them. As if she belonged with them. She went to jump into the vast sky...

Only to remember she didn't have wings.

Thankfully, Alamir with a small laugh picked her up and flew. That's right...she wasn't an angel. In fact, she had argued that same thing a week ago after to Raja after the announcement.

"I know you're not an angel, Deisara! I am the captain of Prescience! Respect my decision!"

She had never heard Raja speak to her in such a tone, but it did its job. it made sure that she knew the subject was closed for argument. Alamir had scolded her later for such a blatant breach in protocol, to which Deisra pointedly explained she didn't know and demanded she apologize to the angel. She never did, and Raja never asked for one. And the two never talked again.

suddenly she wished they'd had talked more. after all, this was a war. she wasn't even old enough to be in the army. she had no clue what she was doing.

But despite her earlier arguments about her lack of wings, she was now enjoying this event. or at least the peaceful part.

she had never felt more at home.

Alamir and Deisara's squad flew across the Atlantic in V formation, heading toward a cave on the ocean that Raja had informed heaven of. As Deisara was being carried she started to panic. The thought that crossed her mind was truly horrific. She squirmed in Alamir's grip which agitated him.

"Please don't make this anymore harder than it is!"

"Shut up! you're an angel, you carried me just fine before when I was screaming in terror. compared to THAT this is nothing!"

"Fine, then you're testing my patience!"

"Children, children please calm down. we are trying to fly." Tessela said, flying upside down, lounging in the angelic way. Deisara and Alamir both shot her a death glare. Raja then saw her and her face became one of nightmares.

Tessela straightened out.

"What I was trying to get at..." Deisara began again "...was that what if humans see us! Won't we like, I don't know, cause a repeat of the Titanic?"

The entire squad, including Raja, burst into laughter.

Deisara frowned and Mari flew closer.

"Angels have many powers, Deisara, one is known as glamour. We can shield ourselves from human sight. that is, from the small percent of humans who CAN see us. Most cannot grasp the fact of our existence, as you once were. Right now, since Alamir is still relatively young for an angel, Raja has extended her glamour to you. While shielding is second nature to an angel, it is infinitely harder and more complex to project that same shield onto another."

Deisara didn't answer but became lost in thought at Mari's extensive explanation. When she started to smell the soil, she actually looked around her to see that they were at the mouth of the cave and had just a few seconds to grasp the fact before Alamir placed her on her feet and he, along with the other angels, landed all around her.

The first thing she noticed was the eerie quiet. She wanted to think that no demons were there. But she couldn't. she felt it in her bones. Something was here. something dark. Demons were the only explanation.

She went to turn to Raja to ask a question just as a yell pierced the air.

"Suprise attack!" Yelled the voice of Heitaro.

Then all hell broke loose.

Dark shadows and garbled forms of pale color swarmed her at every corner. She was too surprised to attack.

She took in their grisly bodies, black and blue, eyes of all shapes, and not one of them is normal. their teeth something of nightmares. and those were just the creatures.

The spirits were another thing.

Shadowy pillars that vaguely resembled some of the shapes of her own world; big cats; dogs; humans; and birds, had gleaming red eyes and could erode the earth wherever they touched. They eroded some of the armor they touched only to be swiftly pierced through their chests. light would shine from them and they'd disappear. and another fighter would appear.

A loud scream filled the air and Deisara whipped her head o the direction of the sound.

"Deisara, up ahead!" Alamir warned.

She turned to see one of the creatures come for her. The only explanation for her actions was pure instinct. As it went to slam its club down on her she rolled to the side. A spirit came out of nowhere, shrieking, and she gave a laugh. She then flipped to avoid the spirit and turned her torso to pierce the creature in the heart. The hairs on the back her neck tingled and she crouched low to the ground, waiting for the spirit to come down on top of her. Her prediction came true and she then pierced it through the chest.

She looked up to see Alamir struggling with easily twenty foes and she ran to help him. She smiled as she fought and she couldn't help but catch Alamir watching her through his own fighting in curiosity.

Then, after a moment, he gave his own smirk back to her.

The crowd of enemies had dwindled much but was still slightly overwhelming and the movements of the enemy forced all the angels to the center of the small isle that held the cavern. All around the enemy closed in more and more compact, and as she fought faster and faster, she heard a yelp. She turned to see Heitaro on the ground and a pack of enemies about to swarm him.

She looked him dead in the eyes and finally found what she was looking for. what had been bothering her.

Heitaro's eyes held evil.

Quite out of nowhere, the beautiful, blond and casual Captain Besmertnia came to help. A royal blue shield of energy came up behind his back as he bent down to try and help Heitaro up.

A gold sword pierced his chest, through his armor, and blood drips slowly at first but quickened by the second. In a flash, the sword is gone and so are his wings.

Captain Besmertnia had just enough time to take in the sight of his beautiful wings, soiled with his own blood, brutally cleaved off his back before he collapsed to the ground. Still. Dead.

A slow and seductive smile spread across Heitaro's face, one that belonged to the devil himself.

"Suprise...Attack."

All around, the demon army triples in size as their leader give the official call for the attack.
