“I still can't believe what happened to Princess Lexina,” I say as Jackie, Kailey, and I are sitting on our bed talking about early this morning.

“I know, it's just awful. I mean I know we don't like her and everything, but still that's a horrible thing to do to someone,” Kailey says.

“Hey,” I say in Lexi's defense, “I didn't  choose to dislike her, and to be honest, I don't think she chose to dislike me either. She hangs out with that Dawn Dusker, so I think she was just influenced.”

“But still, she can like you and still hang out with Dawn. She doesn't have to be mean,” Jackie says.

“Well, she really hasn't been mean to me. We've only run into each other once. But you know what? I think we should do something nice for Lexi, like make her a card or something, you know?” I say with a smile.

“You what? I can't believe I'm hearing this!” Kailey exclaims.

“Hey, I don't like to be rivals with anyone, I'd rather know someone and be friends, or just not know them at all. Since I know Lexi, I'd rather be friends,” I explain.

“No! I won't let you do this! Rivals are so much more fun!” Kailey says.

“I agree with Hazel. Being friends is better than being rivals. I especially do not like having people hate me,” Jackie adds.

            Kailey growls.

“Two to one, I think we win,” I say, snickering.

“Okay guys, be quiet. Technically we're not supposed to be bothering her,” I say as we sneak down the hall towards Lexi's room with our cards and such in hand. We get closer and closer to her door. I guess we hadn't noticed the guard yet, until he said, “Excuse me ladies, but no one is to disturb the Princess at this time.”

“I know, but we've brought cards and such just to slip under her door,” I explain.

The guard thinks a minute, then says, “All right, you may slide them under the door, but that's all. After that you must leave.”

“Oh, we will,” I say with a smile.

The guard steps aside and we slide the things underneath the door. Then turn around and go back down the hall.

“I can't believe you talked me into doing this,” Kailey says.

“Technically, we didn't talk you into this. At first you didn't want to do it with Jackie and me, but then you didn't want to be left out. So really, the decision was entirely up to you,” I explain to her.

Kailey growls again, and Jackie giggles.

“I think we've upset her,” I say as we walk into our room.

Kailey had been silent since I went all technical on her. Jackie laughed.

“I think you’re correct,” she says, sitting down on her bed.

Just when we think Kailey is literally mad at her, she cracks and starts laughing. She just won’t stop! I have just closed the door when someone knocks. I open it back up, and Toby is standing there. He almost says something, but then he notices Kailey just standing in the middle of the floor cracking up.
