Ally's p.o.v

1:10 a.m

I unlocked the door and left Max's house. I headed to my house and saw that my room's light on.

"Mom!" I yelled. "Are you home?!"

"Ally! Come! Come!" my mom announced. "I just got a call from my company. You know my co-worker Elliot? He gave me a ticket for you to go to California! His son Jesse is already there and he will meet you. I've started packing your clothes. Elliott told me that it's a nursing program for ages 16-20. You will only be gone for like a month."

I was startled. "Mom. Slow down. Please. And I don't think I even want to go"

She paced and sat down at the dinner table. "Ally. This is a program that will help you get to a good college. This will better equip you for the future! I would love for you to go, please?"

I was contemplating. I have to tell Max... I went to reach for my phone. I started typing as fast as I could. I don't think that he would be awake.

"Guess who's leaving?? Yea... Ummm my mom has started packing my stuff. I'm going to California, Max. Please, call me as soon as you wake up" I texted.

---

I heard my phone ringing. I couldn't get it at the moment because I was taking a shower. After I have washed, I dried myself and put on new clothes. I wore a Vans oversized shirt and high waisted shorts.

"Hey, Max?"

"Hey, Ally. You good?"

"Yea. It's just, I'm leaving for California in a couple hours." My eyes started forming tears. I sniffed and it made it sound like I am crying.

"Ally... don't cry. It'll be okay. We'll see each other in about a month. Don't worry" Max reassured.

"I'm sorry for overreacting. Will you be okay?" I asked.

"I mean... I'm going to miss you a lot but you won't be gone forever so I'll be waiting for you!" Max stated.

"You are so sweet Max. Thank you for understanding. I love you" I said.

Max took a deep puff and said "I love you more"

"I'll see you later?" I asked.

"We will see each other soon. Bye" Max said making a kissing sound.

I ended the call, grabbed my luggage, and my bag and went downstairs.

My mom had an enormous grin on her face. "Yay! My little girl is having her first trip!"

"Mom. I'm 16. But side note. I'm worried about money..." I noted.

"Do not worry about a thing Ally. You will take good care there. Jesse has lived there."

"So have I, mom."

I was watching Nerve. A movie about this game where people were dared to risk their lives for money. It was pretty interesting. If I were put in that situation, I would be definitely down to do dares.

"Would you like anything to eat or drink?" The flight attendant asked.

"Can I please get a glass of water and possibly some ramen please" I kindly replied back.

"Yes, the ramen will ready shortly," The attendant said and walked away.

As I waited for ramen, I pulled out my oversized denim jacket and covered myself with it. Then I pulled out of the magazines in front of me.

The magazine I pulled out to read "Elliot Hernando, throws a medical event that will potentially help out selected, talented, unique, individuals to attain scholarships."

I began shaking. How can I possibly put myself through this?! This is stressing me out.

"Ma'am?" she said as she delivered me the hot ramen bowl.

"Thank you," I say as I grab it away from her hands. She then handed me the glass of water.

"Anything else?" She asked.

"I'm good thank you"
