Connor awoke without the warmth of his partner next to him. "Hank?" he called out. Cameron came running into the room. "Dad? Where's Dad?" she asked patiently. "I'm not sure, Cammy." Connor replied growing concerned. Cameron was now 7. She was aging very quickly, but Connor didn't mind. She was very fun to be around, as she was picking up a sense of humor. "How about we go make Sumo some breakfast?" Connor said, trying to change the subject. "Yes! He's getting so many pancakes, Dad!" she yelled behind her as she ran down the hallway.
Connor got up, and changed into his lazy day clothes, which were flannel pajama pants and a "worlds best dad" graphic tee that matched Hank's, (Cameron and Alice picked them out). He headed into the kitchen, and began to dig out the ingredients he would need for Cammy's special pancakes, because, as she said, "box stuff just won't cut it!". He turned on the stove and sprayed it down with cooking spray. He hummed while he did this, and soon Cammy was singing along. They both yelled out the chorus in unison, "SHOT THROUGH THE HEART, BUT YOU'RE TOO LATE! YOU GIVE LOVE, A BAD NAME!".
They were dancing around the kitchen, blurring out lyrics in between flipping pancakes and petting Sumo. Just then Hank walked in, laughing at the scene playing out before him. Connor turned down the music a little, turning a deep shade of blue, and Cammy ran towards hank with her hands up. "DADDY!" she yelled, jumping into Hank. He laughed and squeezed her. She went back to singing and dancing with Sumo, and Connor walked over and gave Hank a kiss. He put his arms around Hank's neck, smiling before starting the interrogation.
"Where have you been, Lieutenant?" He said, easing an eyebrow. "Getting some things done, baby!" Hank said chuckling. Connor leaned back and gazed at his partner. Then he noticed something. Hank looked younger, like twenty years younger. His hair remained silver, but his eyes were full of energy. Then he caught a glimpse of an led light on his temple and fell backwards, scrambling on the floor to regain some sort of balance. Hank bent down to help him up, but Connor pulled him completely down so he could look him in the eyes.
"Cammy, sweetie, take Sumo outside please." Connor said over the music. She obeyed, slipping outside to run around with the huge pup. "Are you going to explain this?" Connor asked, on the verge of yelling. "Hey, Hey, calm down, tin can. I'll explain." Hank said while ushering him to the couch. Once they were settled her began. "So we both know humans don't live forever." "Hank, you shouldn't have-"
"Quiet, let me explain. I was old, and I didn't expect to live much longer because I was an alcoholic and I never took care of my body, whatsoever. So I went to Kmaski. He had tried it a couple times before, and it's been successful. Like transferring songs from your computer to you phone. He just transferred me to an android body, so uh, wow this is gonna sound sappy... so we could be together as a family, forever.".
Hank let out a sigh as he finished. Connor was still skeptical, but he let it go. "Forever? You mean like forever forever?" He was beaming. Hank just pulled him into a hug before whispering, "We can uh, test my new parts out tonight.". Connor stuttered, embarrassed, "I-I'd like t-that.". Just then someone knocked at the door. Connor hopped up to answer it, and right as he turned the handle, they forced their way in, tackling Connor.-end-
not a bad cliffhanger, i promise. but yeah i got inspired by @random_trash666 for this chapter, because i thought it was very clever to defeat the problem of Hank dying because he's human, by making him android! Also, I'll be drawing some art about what I picture "Cammy" to look like, and it's very similar to @iron_waffles drawing! bye loves🖤
