The week had passed at a snail's pace (a dying snail). I actually didn't know if it had been a week or just a few days because from the time I got here, I lost track of time and date.

Every morning I interviewed Eros about us, the Insignias. Every night I reminisced the life I had outside and the life I would probably have if I'm not here.  I still hadn't had proper sleep because of overthinking. The 'what ifs' and 'whereabouts' still haunted me every single time I closed my lids.

To be honest, I'm still not used to label myself as an Insignia. And I don't think I'd ever be. Also, my family; Mom, dad, my older brother Craige. What was their ensign?

My parents never told me about Insignias . They should have told me when they were still alive. I'm also worried about Craige. Was he in this facility as well? I hope he's safe.

Eros told me that Insignias were humans who were marked to possess special powers and abilities while they were still developing inside their mother's womb.  We were called Insignias because an ensign was rooted inside our body.  This was the reason why Insignias possessed Insignian aptitudes and power. A specific ensign was subjugated to a specific ability. Some might have the ability to fly or to move things using their minds. It could give you elemental powers like fire and water. It could make teleportation possible, and a lot more. The said ensign could never be removed or transferred; and should be protected because once it was damaged, it'd affect the Insignia's body.

He also explained that being an Insignia can be passed to your offspring by your genes. It amused me that we have Insignian genes too. However, it didn't mean that you would have the same ensign with what your parents had.

"Gods? There are Gods who are Insignias?" I questioned. He told me seconds ago that our ancestors were chosen by the Insignian Gods before to be Insignias.

"Not necessarily the God who everyone knew had created everything within six days. They are the members of the Insignian council who have access to everything since then. They are named Insignian Gods. Not sure if they are immortal though," he said as he turned to the next page of the book.

We were currently spending our leisure time at the reading nook, he read a book of a mystery genre I supposed while I was just seating on the floor interrogating him more about everything. I also enjoyed watching him make weird facial expressions whenever he read something interesting. I never thought of him as a bookworm.

"They know everything. A lot of normies might not be aware of it but they do a very crucial part in maintaining the equilibrium in this world in a lot of facets.Notwithstanding of that, our existence still remains a secret," he continued, his stares still on the book he's reading.

"Last question... how did you know a lot of things about Insignias?" I inquired. He seemed to be so familiar with these things and I wondered how he knew these informations.

This time, he took his gaze to me as he answered.

"Well... I was also like you back then, clueless. I didn't know why I was here. Every bit of information I know was shared to me by my former buddy in this room, Lucas. The supereminent started taking him out for tests I have no idea about. He just told me those were tests to help him know his ensign and to fully develop his powers.  After the conduct of tests, he never returned here. I wonder where he is right now." he replied. I could see the anxiety in his face when he talked about Lucas. They must be closed to each other before.

"Maybe they transferred him to a new facility once he knew his ensign. He'll be safe." I told him. He just took his gaze back on the book.
