Day by day, I started noticing changes in the way Eros interacted with me after that one fateful night. Both of us became more comfortable around each other like we were close friends. He became more open to me and I never minded telling him things and stories about me too.

Eros Pierre was a 19 year old independent guy who lived by himself for over 5 years. He was 13 when his parents got divorced. His father had a new family and his mother had to work outside the country. Instead of living together with his dad's new family, he chose to live alone.

He spent most of his time studying and working as a tutor to support himself despite the fact that his parents insisted to help him financially. I wasn't aware that we studied in the same school, obviously because he was a year ahead of me and we didn't cross paths in the campus.

Aside from him being an academically inclined individual, he also had sports in his schedule. He was part of the varsity because of his skills in playing basketball which also helped him to be a scholarship grantee.

I couldn't hide my astonishment and admiration towards him because of how great he was. He was such an awesome guy, and I'm happy he opened up those parts of him to me.

Also, I liked the way he did his small gestures these past days.  There were times that he would carry me to my bed whenever I fell asleep on the couch. Times that he would lean his head on my shoulder whenever we read books. He smiled and joked too often as well. It was alarming though and it was not his gestures that alarmed me, it was the fact that I liked every single thing he did.

"I already told you not to do that!" I cried. We were spending our time on the couch chitchatting about random things until he suddenly pinched my cheek while I was talking.

I forgot to mention. He added pinching my cheek as part of his habit whenever he liked too, like what he was doing right now.

"I couldn't he-." he wasn't able to finish his sentence when we heard a sound of a metal door opening. It was our door sliding to the side. I never noticed it before. It had the same appearance with the walls. Besides, it had no doorknob on the inside. I bet it was operated remotely.

When the door was completely open, we saw two men standing outside. They were wearing lab gowns and masks to cover their nose and mouth. The one standing on the right was holding a clipboard.

I looked at Eros' eyes as he looked unto mine. The uneasiness visible in his orbs as he spoke.

"T-They are here to take either of us."

The lights were dazzling and the air was thin as I was ushered down the long breadth of corridor by the supereminents. I kept my head straight and my feet moving, remembering what James had told me before I went out.

Be safe.

The line kept running and running inside my head, resounding his soft voice that I would never stop listening to. I could still picture his face in my mind before I left. His eyes even if it was filled with worries and care, was still the prettiest scene I would never forget. He almost made me hesitant to cope with the supereminents willingly.

To be honest, I felt kinda excited and at the same time anxious; excited because of the fact that I will finally know my aptitude after so many years; anxious for the possibility that I might not return to James after the tests. I hope he'll be okay despite being alone there and I promised to return no matter what. He was the reason why I felt down when we talked about Lucas that night. I didn't want to leave James behind.

I was in the depths of my thoughts when the supereminents stopped in front of a tinted glass door. I watched them curiously as they positioned their face in front of a scanner one by one. The supereminent holding a clipboard went first. Upon positioning, a ray of green light beamed straight to his eyes; when the green light descended, informations about him were projected on a screen just on top of the scanner- Ian Morris (Facility Sergeant).
