Now, I believed that distance made people realize how important a person was to them.
I remembered my brother. I realized how I missed Craige's off-tune voice whenever he sung Justin Bieber's hits. I missed the way he acted as my alarm clock every morning during school days. I missed the pancakes he made for me every weekend even though they were either burnt or lumpy. I missed a lot of things about him. I missed my brother.
Of course, Craige wasn't the only person I missed. I missed Eros as well.
It had been exactly four days since the time the supereminents took him for the test. I was expecting him to come back after a day but he didn't. He still hadn't returned here.
Four days seemed to be an eternity without him here with me. Four days of me not having the appetite to eat. Four days of me being so restless and distressed. Four days of me wondering where he was.
I wondered how he was doing. Did he know his ensign already? Was he fine? Was he safe? Was he transferred to another facility? Would he return here?
Was I waiting for someone who wasn't coming back?
The last question brought a pang on my chest and a bitter taste on my mouth. Was he, by chance, not returning anymore? Was I waiting for nothing?
These questions kept running and running inside my mind. I didn't have any idea if it'd ever stop. I wanted this overthinking to stop. I didn't want to be concealed in this place alone.
All I wanted was for Eros to come back.
I truly had become dependent on him. I missed his presence beside me. His mere existence. I wanted to see his blue eyes once more- those eyes which offered tranquility. I wanted to hear his voice-the deep sound of his utterances.
Tears cascaded down my cheeks as I hugged my knees unto my chest. Looking at an empty white wall which didn't interest me at all. I endeavoured to close my eyes for a moment, trying to rest notwithstanding of my position. Praying that as I slept, my soul would temporarily wander me away from this solitary.

-EROS-I thought I remained unconscious long. I became aware of voices, hands; someone was touching my forehead, my cheek. I seemed to be lying on someone's knee, with an arm supporting my back. The cold metal floor meeting my legs and feet.
"Who is he?" the one who held me questioned. I supposed it was a girl based from the voice I heard.
"One of those who have unidentified ensign," a familiar voice answered.
I dragged open my hefty eyelids, wanting to see the people responsible for the conversation. The sight was a little blurry but I recognized the person who owned the familiar voice.
"Mr. Morris?" I scratched out. Unintentionally making the last syllable on a higher diction.
"Eros. Glad you're awake," he told me.
I wasn't able to respond to him instantly. Instead, I scanned the place where we were when the blur took off. I couldn't distinguish what exactly this place was. The room was completely empty. Only metal walls and floors. If this was a part of the facility, I've never been here before.
"Where am I?" was all I said as I stood abruptly. My sudden movement caused me to stumble. Good thing the lady who held me before caught me on time. She looked quite the same age as Mr. Morris. Probably mid-twenties.
"You're inside a spacecraft. This is one of the vehicles we have from our site," the lady answered.
I looked at her in confusion. What the hell was she talking about?
"A spacecraft? Where are you going to take me?!" I wasn't able to refrain myself from shouting. What was going on?
"Eros, we are not enemies. We are here to help you," Mr. Morris explained.
"What help are you doing exactly? I have no idea who you are! I need to come back to my room! Someone's waiting for me," I yelled. I have to come back. James must have been worried about me.
"We are here to rescue you. I'll explain everything later and you have to trust us. We have to leave here first. We'll just wait for the others to come back from the east wing," he responded.
I don't want to leave! I don't want to go somewhere without James!
"Jean, have you received any reports from Ian?" he said, this time addressed to the lady beside me.
Wait... Ian?
"No. I'm not leaving without my friend. He's in the room alone! Let me go. Someone has to help him," I insisted. He seemed unconvinced with my words.
"Your room is located in the west wing of the facility. Same wing where the offices of the supereminents are located. It wouldn't take long for them to notice this operation. It's too risky," he replied. It sounded like an already fixed decision. I guess I have to try harder.
"Please... He's special to me. I'll do whatever it takes to get him," I continued, this time I tried asking Ms. Jean for help.
"Who is this friend you are talking about?" she inferred with concern in her voice.
"James. James Olympus," I answered. I couldn't decipher the reaction Ms.Jean had offered me upon hearing my answer. She stared at me with utter disbelief.
"Did you just say Olympus?" this time Mr. Morris joined our conversation.
"Yeah. We're running out of time. Please let me go," I asked once more hoping this time they'd allow me.
"Malcolm, we have to get that kid! Inform Ian about this," Jean demanded.
"Wait. I thought your name is Ian?" I interrupted. Why did Jean call him Malcolm?
"That's my twin. You'll know later," he answered without looking at me.
"Jean, how fast can you bring us there?" Mr. Morris asked.
"Do you really have to ask? Super speed is my ensign," she answered in a obviously bored tone.
"I'm coming with you," I voiced.
"No. You have to stay here. You're just gonna slow us down. Though my slow pace is still insanely zippy for normies," she said cockily.
I was about to argue but for a less than split second, they were out of the place. I wondered where the door was.
I hoped they'd be able to get James. Please, be safe.
