Jason's Pov

I smiled at my mom that is making her way towards me.

"Sorry they didn't let you in" Mom said with her usual weak smile before sitting herself close to me.

"Its alright, " I told her with a smile. "And besides it isn't visiting hour yet. So how are you feeling?" I asked her.

"Am fine and very strong" She joked with a wary smile.

I knew she isn't yet entirely strong, I could see it in her eyes.

"I know you aren't strong mom, its okay to feel weak" I told her taking her hands into mine.

Mom has been dealing with Ulcer for a while and we never knew until six months ago. I had always observed mood most time and if I ask her what's wrong she'd tell me that its nothing, but I knew her nothing means something. She's quite the actress, always burying her burden deep inside her.

"But I have to be strong for you right?" She asked, her voice starting to shake. "I just want to be home and live with my little boy once again. I want that" Tears are now rushing down her face as she softly touched my cheeks.

I know she is really going through a lot. It had never been easy for her ever since she lost my dad. I was fifteen when I lost my dad, he died of a terrible car accident. That day is a day I would never forget, not until my last breath is about to seize.

"Shh mom is okay. You will be okay" I assured her, wiping away her drenched face.

"I will be okay, " She repeated. "How is your uncle by the way? He came visiting last night" She asked me, wiping away the remaining of her tears with the back of her hand. "He is very nice, he had always been"

"He is fine mom. Uncle Sam is not something to be worried about right now. " I said, dismissively. "Your wellbeing is more important than any other thing right now." I said truthfully. "Have you been taking drugs?" I asked her and she shook her head 'no'. "Mom you know you have to be taking drugs, especially the kind of ulcer you have. Yours is chronic" I said in a warning tone.

I wanted to go inside and scream at the nurses and doctors for not watching over her, but I know if am to do that it would definitely affect her.

"I don't want drugs, and besides I've been taking injections on daily basis" Mom pouted and I can't help but smile at her now lighten mood.

"But you have to, " I mimicked her and she playfully nudged my arms. "It also contribute to your wellbeing too, you know" I told her.

"I know, " She sighed. "I have to do this for you, I need to be strong for you"

"Yes. You need to be strong for me" I repeated her words and pulled her into a hug.

The only people that know about my mom's state are my friends, and of course uncle Sam.

I don't want fake sympathy from people, especially when they don't actually mean it.

Mom suddenly pulled away from the hug, and I open my mouth to ask her what is but she beat me to it.

"Jason Leo Somerhalder, " At hearing my full name I knew it wasn't going to be good. "Why are you still single?" Her question almost made me burst out of daughter. I had to stifle in a laugh.

"Haven't found the girl of my choice" I simply answered.

Lies! Lies! I found found the girl of my choice but unfortunately, she doesn't want me.

"That's not a contrate reason" Mom stated with a sly smile.

I pulled her back into the hug and she snuggled more closer to me. "It is mom, it is"

*******

Ever been in this kind of moment when your friends are talking about you like you aren't right in front of them?

"I know right, he has lost it" Luca snorted.

"Definitely! There's no knowing the truth without willing to find out" Jude agreed, casually.

"Am sure he missed her like hell, you should have seen him during their rehearsals. It was as if he doesn't want to let her go" Louise chimed in with a sad smile displaying on his face.

"Guys please, " I said almost yelling at them. "Am actually happy that the rehearsals are over, so I don't need to see her face or even talk to her until four days" I retorted.

I want to see her, hold her and kiss her in the rain.

"Dude you have to hear her out. Everyone deserves a second chance" Luca stated the obvious.

"That's right." Jude and Louise agreed.

"If you want something then don't take it to the market for sale. Because if you do, the buyer might handle it with such great care which you hadn't done for once" Louise said in parables making me to raise a questioning brow at him.

"Thank you, thank you." I said sarcastically to them, totally ignoring their advice. "Let's enjoy this meal shall we?" I was about to open the plate when a hand came stopping mine. "What?" I asked Luca that is still holding my hands.

"Oh not so soon. No one is touching this food until she arrives" Luca scoffed.

"I thought this is a get together for just us?" I cocked a confused brow. "And who is the she by the way?"

"Who else? Aarinola of course. We invited her" Louise chirped.
