The Pirates Cove

Alice was peacefully asleep, I just smiled at her then looked straight ahead of me. "I've never seen snow before, it's pretty," I said looking out the window seeing every piece of snow falling on to the fall. "It's slowing us down," Luther said directly as I looked back at him. "But at least we won't meet any human along the way," he said looking straight ahead. "It's a good thing that Zlatko had a car, I wouldn't want Alice walking out here in the cold," I said looking at Alice. " I saw it once in the garage, I don't know if Zlatko ever used it," Luther said still looking straight ahead.

"These people were going to see... how do you know them?" I questioned Luther. "Overheard androids Zlatko captured. They said there were humans helping android cross the border" Luther said softly."What if it a lie? Or another trap?" I said worrying if it was true or not. "All I know is that the androids believed it. Until Zlatko killed them" he said looking at me.

MALFUNCTION DETECTED. EMERGENCE BRAKES ACTIVATED

The car slowly pulled to a stop as Luther said " this doesn't look good" as both are seat turned around to Alice. Alice eyes slowly opened as I said "stay in the car, Alice" As me and Luther got the car and checked the engine. "There no way of fixing it now," he said looking at me. "I will look for a place where we can stay for the night," I said looking for any to stay for the night,"I said looking at a sign that said "Pirates Cove". I slowly walked up to the entrance as Luther brought Alice with him.

"There an abandoned house here, maybe we can stay here," I said taking Alice hand as Luther knocked down the door. We slowly walked in and I looked around the house. The words rA9 was placed every was. I grabbed a pillow and an old cretin, I made the bed next to the fireplace. "Alice" I quickly said looking around, Alice was looking up at of a poster of a happy family. I slowly walked up to her and placed my hand on her shoulders.

"Do you think we will be like them someday?" Alice said still looking up at the poster "once we cross the border, we can start over. You can go to school and maybe I'll find a job, we'll be like them. Like everyone else" I said turning to the little one. "As long we're together, that's all that matter's," the child said, I smile softly and placed my hand for a second."Come on, let's get you to bed" I said as I took her hand, walked her over to the bed and tucked her in carefully."Sleep tight, Alice" I said softly, placing a soft kiss on the top of her head I said looking down at the child. "Can you tell me a story, Kara?" Alice said looking up at me, I smiled in response and said "I have nine thousand children stories in memory, I should have one for you" I said with a smile. "This is a story about a princess who-" I said before I was cut off by Alice.

"No, not a story like that. Make one up for me" Alice said still looking up at me, I softly smiled and nodded. "This a story about a little girl who lived alone in a big old house, she dreamed of being like all the other little girls but she was different, this made her very sad. Then she met a robot who was just as lost as the little girl, so they deiced to run away together to try and find a better life. They encountered great dangers along the way but they stuck together and overcome all of them"

"Along the way, they met another robot who left his master and became their guardian," I said looking at Luther "how does the story end?" she said as I turned back to her. "They reached the placed they dreamed of and lived happily ever after," I said softly "stories always have happy endings but real life not like that," she said quietly. "Time to sleep, we have another long day tomorrow, " I said softly "are you going to say goodnight to me, Luther," Alice said looking at Luther. "Yes, yes of course," he said walking to Alice and kneeling down next to her. Luther kissed Alice on the top of her head and said "good night Alice, sleep tight" he said as Alice's eyes closed softly. I and Luther got up, walked over to the windowsill and sat down
