Stormy night

5 hours later

"Todd," I said trying to wake him up. After a few more attempts Todd's eye started to open slowly. "Huh" Todd said sleepily. " Dinner is ready," I said to him as he picked something up off the floor. I went to the kitchen counter, grabbed the food, and put the table. I turned on the light and served Alice and Todd a glass of water each. I put a napkin on Alice and waited for my next order." Life funny, I lost my job to a piece of plastic" Todd said to himself, clenching his fist tight. "What are you looking at? Not the life you dreamed off? eh? Maybe you think it easy " Todd said as he looked up to Alice. "Maybe you think it my fault that we live in this fucking shithole, that it my fault that your mother took off!" Todd shouted staring straight at Alice.

"You should stop taking drug Todd, sometimes you really scare me Todd" he said as Alice leaned back in her chair. "Fucking bitch took off without a word. Fucking bitch walked out on me for a fucking accounted!" Todd shouted throwing the table across the room." It all your fault!" Todd screamed. " Daddy, no..." Alice said quietly trying not to get hurt." It all your fucking fault!" Todd shouted. My LED flashed red as Todd slapped Alice across the face and she ran straight upstairs."Come back here!!!" Todd shouted. I took one step fronted but Todd stop me. "Don't move or I'll break you worst than last time"

DON'T MOVE 

Don't move? I can't let him hurt her. I closed my eyes and reached out the barrier. I ran into the wall trying to break it down. Each time I hit the wall, I started to losing hope. I can't do it, I can't protect her. I'm useless. I'm just a piece  of plastic, I'm nothing. I took a deep breath and looked up as ran toward the wall hitting it each time I was so close but then I did it. The wall was broken. I finally was free. I need to protect the child.

PROTECT ALICE

REASON WITH TODD 

I ran up the stairs and went to Todd room, I grabbed the gun out of a draw and heard something. Footsteps. I went out of the room and quietly walked to Alice room and opened the door. I slowly lift up the gun, as Todd was about to hit Alice I shouted " that enough! leave her alone!" my hand were trembling as Todd turned around. " What the fuck are you doing?" Todd question me as he tightens his on his belt. " Put down the gun and get the fuck outta here. That an order!!" Todd demand as he got close. " no... I want you to leave her alone" I said as my lips trembled as the words came out. "You want? what you mean you want? what ya gonna do?" he said aggressively at me.

" You gonna shot me, is that it? You gonna shot a human?" he said slapping the gun out of my hand. " You seem to have a problem, I think we need to fix that," Todd said as he throws his belt to the side, grabbed me by the neck and threw me to the floor. He started to punch me, I managed to dodge most of the punches, only one or two punches hit me. 

 I started to crawl to the gun but however Todd grabbed me and threw me to the wall. He continued to punch me but however I could not dodge. BANG!. Todd was shot dead, his body fell on the floor and I looked up to she Alice holding the gun. Alice shot Todd, she looked back at me with a tears  running down her face. I held out my hand, she took it and we ran downs stared and out the door. I saw bus,  we ran to it and got on. We sat down, and my LED went back from red to blue in a matter of minutes. Alice looked up at me and placed her hand on mine. I looked down at the young, my LED went yellow as I placed my hand on her's. we both slowly closed our eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

1 hour later

I slowly opened my eyes and saw the bus driver."End of the line" the driver said walking closer to me, "end of the line?" I questioned the driver. " yes, you need to leave" he said looking at Alice and then me. I woke Alice up and got up, holding Alice's hand. "Do you know anywhere that we can stay tonight?" I asked keeping Alice close. "No but you have to leave now," the driver said pointing to the exit. I lead Alice to the exit of the bus and got out the bus.

" We will find a safe place to stay for the night Alice, I promise," I said looking down at Alice, she nodded in response. I looked around for a placed to stay, I saw a convenience t store. I took Alice to the store "look the store open, maybe we can get some help there" I said while we both walked in. "What do you want?" the cashier said looking at us. "I'm with a little girl and we have nowhere to stay. Can you spare some money for we can get a room for tonight" I said hold Alice close."Shit, a homeless android. Ah that the best yet. Look, this is a convenience store, not the salvation army, okay. You better go if you not going by anything" the man said as he sat down. I looked around to find something.

I walked around the store and I found something  perfect for Alice. A toy. I quickly glanced at Alice then back at a toy. Should I do it? Alice needs it, needs to be happy. I took the toy and hid it. I went back to Alice and left the store. I walked down the street and saw a garbage truck, an I saw android. "Excuse me, do you if there anywhere we can stay?" I said looking at him, he attended his hand and I did the same. "But that on the other side town," I said but he left.

I and Alice continued down the streets until we reached a gate. I opened the gate an saw an abandoned car. Maybe we can sleep here. I looked around a moment, I saw some wire cutter. I took them and started to cut the fence next to me. It only took a matter of minutes, I and Alice went through and saw an abandoned house. "We can stay have for the night," I said looking at perfect Alice " are you sure Kara?" the little the girl said holding my hand.

" This the only way Alice, you stay here and I check if anyone here" Alice nodded as I walked over to the window and check if anyone there. " No one in there Alice" I turned my head, Alice was gone. "Alice?" I said walking around the corner and see Alice being threatened by Android with a knife. "Wait! What are you doing?!" I shouted looking at the robot. "Ralph doesn't like a visitor! There nasty! They hurt Ralph" the android explained. "She just a little girl... she's not going to hurt you," I said clammily.

"Little girl, she not a little girl. Anyway, why does that matter? Maybe she wants to hurt Ralph?" he said still threatening Alice.  "We thought nobody was here, we just want a place to stay for the night" I said trying to clam Ralph down "visitor is dangerous... look at what they did to Ralph" he said turning his to face me, showing me the scars on the right side of his face. " You have nothing to worry about. I promise" Ralph slowly lowering his knife as Alice ran into my arms.

" You must excuse Ralph sometimes his fear make him do things he regrets, Ralph has had some hard times," he said pointing this scars. " He just scared that the humans will get him again. You stay with want, Ralph won't hurt you" he going into the house. "come on,come! Ralph has lived here for a long, the human hasn't found him yet " he said taking me and Alice into the house. " You can sleep here if you want, Ralph will be in the other room. He got things to do" Ralph said as he went into the other room.

"It just for one night Alice, I'm going started a fire and find something that I can make a bed," I said reassuring Alice. I grabbed some wood and a match and started a fire, after that, I found a blanket and a pillow for Alice and made a bed out of them. " Why didn't he love, why was he always upset with me," Alice said as I kneeled down next to her. " All I wanted was normal life like other girls," Alice said looking down " maybe I did something wrong " you didn't. "Maybe I wasn't good enough for him." No, you weren't. "That why he was always so angry" he was taking drugs, it not your fault. " I Just wanted us to be a family" I will give that to you. "Why couldn't we just be happy?" Alice said looking up at me. " I don't know Alice" I answered.

"You'll never leave me, right. Promise me you'll never" Alice said, my lip was trembling as the work came out " I promise," I said. " Will be together forever won't we Kara" there was the only option for this "forever" I tucked Alice into bed." I have something for you" I said as I pulled the toy for behind my back. "Thanks," Alice said as I gave it to her and closed her eyes. "Sleep tight Alice" I whispered as I kissed her head.

I lay down next to Alice putting my arm around as we fell into a deep, deep sleep for the rest of the night peacefully.
