Chapter 4 |You sound like a gold digger

"When life gives you lemons, get tequila and salt", Shanaya said holding the bottle of tequila in one hand and the shot glasses in the other.

"You know that's not how the saying goes right?", Hayley asked

"That's how the saying SHOULD go like though", she shot back.

We were discussing what to do in Malibu and where to go after over a couple of shots, except for Shanaya who had almost emptied the bottle herself.

"Man I can't wait to meet Xavier and Shreya, I mean how sweet are they? They got us not only a motor coach but a driver with it!", Hayley said fondly

"You sound like a gold digger", l deadpanned

"I just think that Shanaya's grandparents are awesome, Kaylee are you a little jealous? ", she said setting a teasing look my way

"Does no one find it weird that Hayley and ONLY  Hayley calls Shanaya's grandparents by their names", I look at Alec questioningly.

"Don't get me into this, I love you but I'm Switzerland right now ", he said smartly avoiding the argument.

"You did the right thing man, last time I picked a side I woke up the next morning in a bed covered with plastic spiders", Caleb said glaring at Hayley all the while, to which she shot him an innocent smile.

Through the speaker in the corner of the room, the driver's voice boomed, "We're gonna stop for some gas so if you would like to pick up some food and drinks or need to use the restroom now would be the best time"

"I'm gonna go to the washroom", Shanaya said and walked down the stairs shaking her head and muttering "I always wanna pee when I drink", I turned my head to see Caleb smiling as his eyes followed her frame all the way till the restroom, as if I had caught him staring at his little crush he looked at me with a blush and in a rush said, "I'm gonna go buy some coke"

Me being the world's biggest romantic, wondered instantly if there was something going on between the pair. Suddenly Alec intertwined our fingers and with playful glee in his eyes said, "Are you already fantasizing about your brother and best friend being together".

"C'mon did you see the way he looked at her? I  soooo ship it"

"Honey, you ship everybody and anybody"

"That's soooo not true", I said denying the obvious truth.

"You tried to set up Hayley and the pizza delivery guy"

"In my defense, I just thought that he had a good sense of humor and would match Hayley well, also he was pretty cute I was just trying to help a friend out"

"Was he cuter than me?", Alec said pouting. I knew he was trying to change the topic, so I figured I'll just play along.

"Maybe... Blondes aren't really my type"

"Oh god get a room", Hayley said with a sneer.

"We will in half an hour"Alec retorted.

"Ya ya just don't go around sticking your tounges up each other's throat in front of me, cause I don't have a supply of holy water around me all the time "

"Oh my god, that turned me on so much!!! Babe you wanna French?!", I lean into Alec for effect and I can see in his eyes how hard he's trying not to break into a laughing fit.

"Ew! Ew! Ew!... I'm outta here", Hailey says jumping out of the seat, stopping in front of the bus door for a moment to give us a look of disgust to which I slyly winked back at her and seeing that her expression became mortified, My pride had returned seeing her runaway.

"So are we gonna French?", Alex asked with a glint of humor.

I faked thinking about the question and said, "Hmmm...Well, I'm not sure, Are you any good."

Alec walked closer to me and put his arm around my waist, he leaned down and whispered, "Let's find out".

I stood on my tiptoes and as I was reaching his lips, "Haha, your so short you have to be on your tiptoes to kiss him". I turned my head to Hayley who was elegantly sitting back on the couch while crunching on a packet of chips and glared at her, my first response was to tell her that she gets on her tiptoes to hug him.

But those thoughts were cut short when Alec slightly whispered a string of colorful words cursed in my ear about how he can't get to kiss me in peace and all of a sudden picked me up and kissed me, I smiled against his lips as I vaguely heard Hayley shout in disgust, "Ew! I'm out". I locked my hands around his neck and melded into the kiss.

 The kiss was over sooner than I wished as the driver interrupted us by speaking through the intercom, " We will be moving again in a minute or two so I suggest you all get back on board ".

Hayley got back on to the bus, still staring at me with disgust. Shanaya and Caleb came back carrying more alcohol and food.

"I guess dinner is sorted, Are you trying to get wasted Shanaya?"

"Well the other bottle was supposed to be celebratory but then my dad called"

"What did he say ?"

"I don't wanna talk about it, I just wanna forget...So SHOTS!!!"

"You don't have to get drunk to forget, you guys wanna take a pit stop  ...I know a place"

Shanaya looked at me questioningly and just shrugged, I turned to Hayley and asked, "What about you?", She looked at the bag of food and her phone and then said, "If there is enough food and I can sleep, yeah, sure why not?".

I walk to the front and talk to the driver to ask him to take us to a certain place, walking back Caleb comes up to me asking, "What's up with Shanaya and her dad?" he asked masking the care and sadness he feels for her.

Shanaya and her dad had a almost nonexistent relationship.When they talked they fought,when they fought they stopped talking.Caleb cares but Shanaya opened up to me cause she trusted me , so I'm going to leave it to her to tell him,I shrugged  at Caleb as if I didn't know.I walk to the back lounge and Shanaya is gulping down some alcohol,I walk over and take the bottle away.

"HEY!!!".Just then the driver speaks through the intercom"We have arrived".
