Chapter 8|Pranks and Fires

"So tell me again why I'm part of this?"

"Because Kayra needs this and I need an excuse to rebel"

"Yeah...so tell me why I'm part of this"

" Caleb!We are helping a friend out,we are doing this"Shanaya says quickly ending the argument and not letting room for more.

"We met her like 3 days ago but sure let's help a person we have no clue about...wouldn't be the first time"Caleb complies finally to his dismay,While we stake out in a bush a foot away from Kayra's ex-Cara,Alec had been having the same conversation with Hayley.

To keep it short she wasn't as understanding as Caleb and we may have kidnapped her from the bus to get her to be part of this,the last time we did something like this at 4 in the morning,Hayley grumbled the whole way for disturbing her oh so precious sleep.

"Hey guys I just wanna say ,I'm really glad your doing this with me I mean ,I don't think I could this alone,but if you wanna back out right now I understand"

Even though Hayley looked like she was in dire need of sleep and Caleb was not into this,being the little angels they are on the inside they of course say while glancing at each other and back to Kayra"Since we're here already let's get the priceless expression of your ex".

Your probably wondering what this plan was,We were currently at the camp out which the tour agency had part of the inventory,Cara hates snakes and now not only did we get snakes,we put a recorder in it's mouth to leave a impressionable image at the least.

Without the plan skipping a beat ,Cara walked over to her tent from the cam pit and went in with no idea of what was to come next.

Kayra released two snakes from the bag into Cara's tent and after a moment of silence a scream emitted from the tent and out ran a screaming girl in her penguin pj's.

We laughed all the way back to the bus recalling her terrified expression.

I don't think I've had that much fun in a long time,I know it's bad I just helped prank a person I barely know but I'm laughing and it's not a fake laugh not even a half laugh,it's a full blown genuinely head throw laugh and it's the gitters in my belly from the adrenaline rush that make feel ecstatic.

"Well that was kinda worth missing sleep for"

"Yeah that wasn't half bad"

Caleb and Hayley say giving Kayra a subtle appreciation and also telling her that they like her, because of course they couldn't properly say it with words.

"Hey sis can we talk?"

"Yeah sure, What's up?"

"Have you been taking your pills, I know you hate the whole interrogation thing but I saw the bottle it's full like you've not touched it".

"I've been perfectly fine so I thought I'd stop taking it for a while since I don't need it"

"How long is a while exactly?"

"Since we got drunk "

"It's been two weeks since then!Kaylee we don't know what happens when your off your meds and just because your okay right now doesn't mean their won't be repercussions"

"Your not a doctor,I'm handling it and I know your scared cause you think that it's gonna happen again but it won't"

"Kaylee-"he sighs

"Caleb I'll be fine."

Of course during this crucial conversation a fire has spread and outruns Alex with a fire extinguisher from god knows where,It makes sense that he's the only sane person who tries to take out the fire.

"Pants on fire!Pants on fire!,I can't do this!"

Never mind Shanaya seems to be the only one who is ready for this as she takes the extinguisher out of his hands and tames the fire from the bush and Alex's pants easily.

"How'd you do that without killing yourself in the process"Hayley asked just as perplexed as me.

"The cookbook for my diets are not easy to make and I have burned down the apartment numerous times"

"That's what it was?I thought you guys just like redecorating every week"I say

"It's alternate week, but who's checking?"

"Guys maybe we should get inside the bus,I need knew pants"Alex says while looking at his coal coloured burnt pants.

"Yes!I finally have a birthday present for you"Hayley's says in excitement much to Alex's dismay.

"I mean- oh no!"

"I would not be suprised if that's why you started the fire"

"Hey!"Hayley responds to my accusation.

"Drive it like you stole it!"We sing in unison,with me lead singer screaming into my non-existent mike, Alec hitting the drums like a maniac, Hayley jamming on her air guitar,Shanaya banging her fingers against invisible keys and Kayra beat boxing horribly in the background.

If your wondering where Caleb is, I shall explain...I will have to take you to through the past to explain the future present (I know.I'm quoting X-men)

After we escaped a deathly fire and burnt pants,we returned to the bus in silence pondering over how and who brought over the fire.

"So not really pointing fingers but Caleb totally started it "Hayley accuses.

"That is pointing fingers and I was talking to Kaylee,How would I start a fire?".

"I don't know the specifics but it's definitely you".

"Okay so your blaming without evidence.Your  saying I started the fire without proof ".

"Well I think we just got our evidence,you just confessed! I knew I could get it out of you with a little work".

"You didn't do any work!".

"He admits it's him again!, maybe my uncle's right I should become a cop".

"I feel like burning you alive!".

"Aha!I get more and more out of you don't I".

"Why do I deal with this on a daily basis?".

"So it was a revenge plot?"

"I'm gonna stay in my bed room and hope this she devil doesn't follow along"

You maybe thinking that was all, but folks let's not forget this is my one and only family.

Hayley of course passes by Caleb' s room and interrogates him from the outside.

So after that incident we had to obviously keep the two FAR apart from each other and the only way to do that was to keep Hayley distracted and under our noises,thus we have come to the present where the whole band is jamming on their non existent instruments.

"Psst,Psst".

"I'm sitting right next to you Hayley?".

"It's not a secret confession if I say it normally...duh".

"Confess what?".

"I started the fire"

"I should be more suprised "

"Where would like me to begin?"

"The end,we don't  got time for the backstory and then side track and finally the 4 minute main story".

"I feel attacked but nonetheless I was playing with a lighter and It was a little two close to the wood which I didn't think of at the time and  next thing I know,there's a fire".

"This is why we don't leave you unsupervised ".

"I do not need supervision!"

"Mhmm"
