Love, a word on my mind,
I fiddled with the word more than a thousand times,
But is it described as well as it should, be? _________________________________________________
Justin took us to the stadium. I looked around in awe. It was bigger than I have imagined. I looked back at Justin, his laughter at my face. My mouth dropped at the sight of such a big place. He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and smiled.
"That's the same expression I got the first time I've been here." He laughed once more, then looked over at me. I then looked over to the familiar face from his direction. I scowled away for a second, then put on my signature 'smile' for her to see.
"Hey, baby!" Selena coos, my eyes glancing at her face. I looked down slightly.
"Hey." Justin said, kissing her quickly.
"So, is this the new girl?" She asks, eyeballing me suspiciously. She had no reason to, I wasn't a supermodel. I was a inflated ball against her coke frame.
"Yeah, her name's Vanessa." Justin's voice lightened at the sound of my name. I looked up, and waved.
"Hi." I said, uneasy inside, but gradually. She shook it off, like I was lint on her designer shirt. She held onto Justin's left hand, his right on my shoulder. Selena held it for deal life, then asked, "Do you wanna go somewhere private?" She winked, and I rolled my eyes out of disgust. It's not that she was a bad person, but she was acting very immature for her age. I slipped out of Justin's grasp.
"I might just leave you two be. I'm going to go warm up my vocals." I looked at Justin once more, then walked off, going to sit in one of the seats on the floor alone, so I could warm up with songs. I, at first, thought of Justin. I could feel the pit of jealousy inside of me, and then I let it go. I took a deep breath, then begin to sing.
I do recall now, the smell of the rain,
Fresh off the pavement, I ran off the plane,
That July ninth, the beat of your heart,
It jumps through your shirt, I can still feel your arms.
And now I go, sit on the floor,
Wearing your clothes,
All that I know is I don't know,
How to be something you miss.
I let out a sigh, looking at my phone. I've gotten a text. I looked at it.
'It's Justin, Sel's in showers backstage of stadium. Plz meet me on the stage in a few?'
I smiled. She had already been sick of him. I saved him as, 'Juz10 IzPerf', chuckling at the contact name, then responded, '@ floor seats. be there shortly.' I slumped up out of the seat and ran towards the stage, and up on the stairs. I waited for only a few seconds before seeing how wonderful of a view of Madison Square Garden was from here. My eyes shifted to the view, walking across the stage as well. I stopped at the end of the stage, sitting down and staring an awe, a little kid checking out a new toy. I was suddenly wrapped in the arms of a familiar figure, my giggle freed from inside me.
"Thanks for meeting me up here." Justin smiled, his arms wrapped around me. I looked back at him.
"Of course." I replied, smiling back, then looking back out.
"I remember the first time I got here." Justin admitted, looking down at my childish figure. "My voice was lost and the show almost ruined. But I got through it. I also remember gazing in here, feeling like it was a castle, a conquest I had yet to complete." He smiled.
"It's amazing up here. It's amazing to have this huge opportunity in front of me, and I'm glad I took it." I smiled. He smiled back at me, then I thought of a song. "I don't know, but a song just came up in my head, and it has nothing to do with now." I laughed.
"Which one?"
"We Are Young."
"How do you get that stuck in your head at a time like this?"
"I don't know, the first verse is amazing and the song is catchy."
"You are just....something."
"Of course I am." I stuck my tongue at him, lightly smiling at him. His face brightened my day, as I laid on his chest and closed my eyes.I open my eyes for a split second.
"Your eyes, they're beautiful." Justin smiled lightly.
"Thanks." I looked up at him, thinking I could last in the moment forever. I felt completely safe here. I haven't felt this great since...well....since he left.
But it wasn't long until she came to find him.
"Justin!" She whined softly, her heels and figure popping into view. "We have to rehearse our song together." Justin looked back, sighed, and got up. I watched him go, as he texted me, 'I'm sorry.'
