I woke up the next day and did everything the way that I normally do.
· Lay in bed for five extra minutes after my alarm goes off
· Slap my alarm to the floor
· Get up ten minutes later to cut it off
· Lay back own for thirty minutes
· Rush for the last fifteen minutes to get dressed, brush my teeth, comb my hair, eat cereal, and fly out the door
But today, right before I could fly out the door, someone knocked.
I opened the door to see my… I mean Jasper right in front of me.
“I hope you don’t mind but I brought your car back and I was wondering if you’d like to ride to and back from school with me. And maybe we could study for the history final at my house. Then you could properly meet my… family.” Jasper said casually.
I looked back at my hung-over mother, asleep on the couch.
“Yes, PLEASE. Hold on!”
I ripped a post-it note from the stack and snatched a pen from the drawer closest to me.
“I’m going to a friend’s house after school. Don’t get too drunk. Bye.”
I took a look around and didn’t really see a place that she would find the note in her state so I just stuck it to her forehead.
I turned back to Jasper, “let’s go, Goldie.”
He hands me a beautiful helmet with the Irish flag printed on it and we both hop on his motorcycle and we’re on our way.
There was lots of talk as we arrived in the school parking lot together.
“Are they dating?”
“What’s Pixie gonna think about this?”
“He’s too good for her!”
“Why’s he hanging with the Emo?”
I just walked right past them cheerfully, whistling, holding my head high and my middle finger higher.
Nothing can ruin my day.
