ANOTHER BABY FIC '^' (So Tobi is about 3 and Simon is 4. I also got this idea from Rugrats so...)

Small chubby hands reached out in the darkroom, touching nothing but air. The young boy sat up as his lip began to quiver and his eyes darted in the darkroom in hopes of finding a comforting face.

A small whimper left his mouth while he reached out for his small purple blanket, but it was nowhere to be found except discarded on the rug below the large crib. The urge to cry out for his mom overwhelmed the young boy, but before he had the chance a quiet voice spoke out.

"To-bi?"

Tobi crawled towards the front of his crib and gripped onto the front of his bars.

"Si?"

Tobi's eyes finally situated on the small moving blob in the room as he saw Simon crawl over the protective layering on his bed and move towards his crib. Simon gripped the bars along with Tobi putting his face just on the bars, so his eyes were level with Tobi's.

"What's wrong?" Simon curiously asked.

Tobi pulled himself up using the bars as support.

"bad dream" Tobi replied while wiping his face, covering his arm in a mixture of tears and snot.

Simon glanced around and contemplated if he should go find his mom. But he quickly dismissed it and shuddered at the thought of having to walk around in his house at night, and alone.

"Want to sleep with me?"

Tobi quickly nodded his head and sat back down on his mattress. He gripped at the bars once again in hopes of them disappearing so he can be with his friend without the bars blocking him. But to no avail, he was stuck in his protective prison.

More tears started to flow from the young boy's eyes when he realized he couldn't get out of his bed without help.

"Is okay Tobi, I'll get in cuz you can't get out," Simon said in hopes of calming him.

Simon noticed the blanket lying on the floor and recognized it as Tobi's favorite. He gently picked it up and tossed it over the top, it landing a couple feet away from Tobi.

Tobi grabbed his blanket and pulled it up so that nothing but his eyes were visible. He watched as Simon scampered around the room quietly looking for something. It seems he finally found it when he began pulling at it with a strong effort.

"Look, I found it" Simon exclaimed as he pushed the heavy thing towards the crib.

Tobi intrigued at what it was, abandoned his blanket and went to the edge of the crib where he saw the step stool they both occasionally used.

Simon carefully began to climb the step-stool, using the bars of his old baby crib to steady himself as he climbed up more stairs.

"Here, take my hand, Simon"

Simon quickly grabbed Tobi's considerably smaller hand as he began to swipe his legs over the top of the crib. Simon immediately looked down and regretted his decision as he braced himself with a small yell as he hit the bottom of the crib. Simon held onto his arm as the brace of the impact shocked him for a few seconds.

Tobi crawled over to Simon, who landed only a few feet away from him. Tobi promptly sat beside Simon, waiting for him to move. And despite the fear Tobi still had and his deep want for his mother, he slightly began to paw at Simon's blue and red striped pajama shirt.

Eventually, Simon sat up, after his head stopped moving and he regained the reason that he was in the crib.

"Si?"

Simon turned to see Tobi buried in his purple blanket beside him.

"I'm okay"

Simon proceeded to shake his arms at Tobi as a way to show him, which Tobi took without issue. He began to stand so he could walk towards Simon, but the movement of his mattress caused him to stumble and fall forward, landing next to Simon. Simon started to laugh but quickly used his hands to cover his mouth in attempts to quiet his laughter and not wake his mom.

The smaller boy rolled over to face Simon and also started to giggle until both the boys were hysterical mess.

"shhh Tobi, you gonna wake my mommy"

Tobi nodded his head and stifled his laughter until it began to die down. Simon was only a year older than Tobi, being four, but they have known each other since birth. So Simon's mom had kept his old crib for their frequent sleepovers.

"You forgot your blankie" Tobi commented as he pointed towards Simon's bed.

Simon turned to eye his red comforter and contemplated going to get it. However, before he had the chance Tobi grabbed his arm pulling him back to mattress, where he just nearly missed falling on the smaller boy.

Tobi bubbled up as he flattened out his purple blanket and laid half of it over Simon.

"We can share!" he exclaimed, smiling so that his new front teeth were shining.

Simon responded by grabbing one corner of the blanket and hoisting it up over his shoulder as he turned to face Tobi. The younger male's eye lids were drooping and his thumb was gravitating to his mouth despite the amount of times his mother has discouraged him for that. But his recent nightmare and the warmth of Simon caused him to become increasingly tired.

Simon continued to watch Tobi drift off to sleep, and even though he was still a toddler, he felt the need to make sure he wasn't having a bad dream. Just as Simon drifted off he felt tiny fingers grasp at his pajamas and he unconsciously scooted closer to the demanding pull until he was right next to the sleeping boy.

Needless to say, Simon's mother woke up to quite a surprise.
