Quick note: I'M very sorry for not posting in so long! I didn't know how much this book meant to a few of my readers. If you also didn't know, I unpublished the original "Chapter 13" because it really didn't have much to do with the rest of the story....so I'll just continue from here.
*Rin's POV*
I look around to see Shima and Koneko standing in the open hallway. Stressfully, Koneko stands nervously pointing at Yukio's tail. As soon as this becomes apparent to Yukio, he immediately lowers his tail. I look at Shima who quickly looks away, and pushes Koneko out of the room. I turn my head towards Yukio, after he made a loud face palm. The sound echoed throughout the kitchen, and even rang in my ears. I covered my pointy ears with both hands, catching a certain someone's attention.
"You alright, Rin?" Bon asks in a quiet voice. I close my eyes and smile as I nod. I snap my head around to see Shima coming back into view. "Good to see you up and walking, Rin!" He places an arm around my neck which signals pain. I duck down from under his arm, and carefully graze my hand over the pained area.
I'm scared and frightened to see many injuries over my body with no recollection of what happened. Startled, I captiously look at Bon and then Yukio. The extent of worriment grows. I stop moving my head frantically, and stare at Bon. He tries to reach out a hand, but I walk to the room. I hear him following me, but I know he wasn't going to stop me. I look at myself in the mirror. Bruises and burns practically covering my body. I see through the reflection that Bon stood behind me. He doesn't seem to say anything, but look. After actually turning around to gaze at him, I look down at my shirt. Burned and torn, I slowly lift up to see more than I expected. I look back in the mirror, and a small mark catches my attention. As I pull up the back, I read the message.
I let go of my shirt, making my arms rest by my sides. My head hangs low as I feel small tears in the corner of my eyes. I slowly raise my head, forcing myself to look at Bon. "W-What happened?" I ask shakily. He sighs heavily, taking a step closer into the bathroom. "It's only what I assume, I don't know much more than you do, but you went for a walk, and I didn't see you for while after that. Suddenly there was a story about you collapsing on the grounds with injuries no one could guess what happ-" I hear him stop as I wrap my arms around him. I know he's was startled, but didn't wish to hear more. I hated how this always happened to me. Soon, I feel a gentle pressure around my back, not enough to hurt the wounds, but then I hear a faint "I'm sorry I wasn't there" He's words, so subtle yet so caring. It's the only think I truly long for. " You-you don't have to be sorry." I bury my head with words I'm sure couldn't be heard.
"Hey, um, sorry to interrupt this beautiful moment, but I'm hungry" I hear Shima from outside the dorm room. "Dammit, Shima!" Bon yells as he scurries away. I can't help but laugh, as I'm lead back into the kitchen. "How about it? Feel like cooking, brother? We all know you're the best at it." Yukio smiles as he softly pats my shoulder. I nod with a giant smile on my face.
*Time skip to Pre-evening 4:00 p.m. Still Rin's POV btw*
Everyone seemed to have a nice breakfast, even some meat was leftover for Kuro. The day already felt complete. But it didn't get better from there.
I was resting prone on my bed with phone in hand when I suddenly get another random message.
(BB) ah, it's been awhile. hasn't it? Very sorry to hear about what happened to you. Truly I am, but considering a few days have passed, I'm granting you three more. Three more days to tell Bon how you really feel."
