It was morning when they discovered someone had slashed all of Marco's tires. Marco thinking someone took a knife to his tires but Celine could spot wolf slashes a mile away. She offered to help pay for his tires but he said it was fine. "I got a cousin that can fix this up for me. Are you able to get a ride back home?" He asked her. "Yeah don't worry about me. Ill call my driver." When she got into her car and headed to Cass house. She dialed Eli's number "I've been hit again. Someone slashed the tires of my friends car. We have to find this guy, He's getting too close." Eli added "We will find this guy just go and handle your business, We are on it Alpha." Celine hung up irritated that she couldn't even enjoy her morning after with Marco because someone damaged his car. She got out of the car and went straight to the shower getting ready for a business meeting. Celined tried to occupy her mind with school and work all day feeling horrible about putting Marco in danger. She had been avoiding his texts and calls for days now. Knowing that was a shitty move but trying to separate her personal life and her obligations to her pack. She'd even gone to Shadowlake, the pack's compound, and had been going over strategies with the Elders just in case this is a call for war. Unbeknownst to Celine, Marco found himself pacing back and forth. Not knowing what had him so on edge lately but it was as if ants were under his skin. All he could think about was Celine. It had started to disrupt his job as well as his schooling. He had never been a possessive guy when it came to women. Never too clingy or controlling. Always saw women as fresh air and letting them flow however they wanted. But all his thoughts consisted of: smooth brown skin, locs that were golden at the tips, and the smell of apples and fresh thunderstorms that always cling to her. He even started having recurring dreams of a wolf running towards something. His wolf dreams were even happening more frequently the longer he was away from Celine. A beautiful white wolf was haunting his dreams just as much as Celine was haunting his thoughts. He started sleepwalking and each night he is going deeper and deeper into the woods as if it's a whisper in his subconscious. Waking up lost night after night.
Celine's best friend thought she needed to have some fun with everything going on so they go to a day party that Marco happened to working at. He doesn't see her come in but noticed her at the bar. Leaving his post, which he knew he shouldn't do, but his co worker looked out for him. The tension is really thick between the two of them as Celine introduced Cassandra to Marco. He wished them a good day and goes back to his post. Finding that he was constantly looking for her through the crowd. He started to get angry when he saw a guy who kept bothering Celine to buy her a drink or to dance with her. Getting fed up, he started to approach them. Marco's hands tighten into fists and he clenched his jaw so hard he was surprised that his teeth didn't shatter. Then he sees the man grab Celine's arm and Marco snapped. He stepped between them and promised to the man, "If you don't remove your hand, I will break it." Celine is looking at Marco confused, she's never seen him so angry. He looked almost as if he was a wolf himself, ready to defend his pack. But that's impossible because she would have known by now if he was one. She heard, "She aint yo bitch, you can have her after I'm done." Before Celine could defend herself, Marco punched him so hard you could hear the connect throughout the bar. As the man fell to the ground Marco gets on top of him and continued to pound on his face repeatedly punching him. Shouting at him with each punch for disrespecting Celine. Marco's co workers come to break the altercation up but he has completely lost it. Celine hands her things to her Cassandra, who is frozen with fear at the sight before her. While another bodyguard was trying to hold Marco's arms back because the guy on the floor was bloody and no longer fighting back. Celine yanked at Marco's face to make him see her and only her. She noticed that his usually dark brown eyes that reminded her of rich hot chocolate or her mother's wolf fur are no longer there. The eyes that she saw were so dark that they looked like the rocks that sailors would crash into during a storm. He had truly lost control and she does the only thing she can think of she lets her eyes shift and commanded like an alpha to her betas, "Macro STOP." Macro stopped fighting instantly and the other bodyguards carry him out of the party.
As Celine turned back to her best friend Cassandra, she knew it was time to go before anyone started to ask questions. Hoping no one pulled their phone out and started to record. The last thing she needed was to be the new CEO of her company and is online being caught between a bloody fight. They sat in Cassandra's car letting their adrenaline come down, Cassandra looked at Celine and before she could even get what she wanted to say out, Celine softly said, "I swear I've never seen him like that before. He's never violent hell I've never really seen him upset before today." "I mean I'm pretty sure this man just lost his job for you because a guy disrespected you." "You have to admit something is between you too." Celine rolled her eyes, "I don't need anyone defending my honor. I can take care of myself and do a better job at keeping it contained I might add." Cassandra shakes her head and puts on her "Momma" tone, " You don't see it, do you?" "And what didn't I see Cass?" Her smile small but bright, "He looks at you like you hung the moon itself. Also like he wants to bend you over the nearest surface but we don't have to comment on that." Celine is silent as she could feel the embarrassment rising in her cheeks. "We get it you are an Alpha and you feel the need to be in control at all times but you can't really control what you feel. I'm not gonna exaggerate it and call it love just yet but you and Marco have to have to a conversation about this and see what happens from there." Celine chuckles at her best friend advice always being the voice of reason and positivity even when we just left from a complete shit show. "Can we just go back to your place, I think I need to lay down and put on some sweats." Cassandra knew that was her best friends way of delicately ending the conversation. "Sure, we can do that. I think you have some blood on your clothes anyway. Wanna day drink and watch Power?" As Celine turns to her best friend her smile so big it beams, "See THATS why youre my best friend." They laugh as they head back to the house. Celine went to the guest room that she's been sleeping in and changed into more comfortable clothes. Both girls meet up in the living room and crash on the couch. Cassandra had the wine and Celine had the take out menus that they were gonna choose from. After a great binge of Power and some great Italian food, Cassandra was out like a light on the other end of the couch. Celine could see the night sky has fully emerged. Thinking the distraction of drugs, sex and calculating violence would distract her but she's been checking her phone to see if Marco has texted or called. Even though she would never admit that to another soul. Not really wanting to be the first to make contact because she was at a complete lost as to what to say to him. She hated feeling so conflicted inside. She placed a blanket over her friend and goes back to her room to balance herself. She lit some incense and pulls out her crystals making a circle around herself as she started doing some light stretching and yoga. Losing track of time, when she's done it's almost midnight and she still hasn't heard from Marco. Feeling as if she had an itch that she couldn't scratch. "Fuck it," she hissed as she threw on some jeans, a tshirt, and her bright yellow vans. She got in her car and headed straight for Marco's not caring about the lastest of the hour. She sped all the way there and decided to take the stairs instead of the elevator. Thinking if she kept her body moving she wouldn't lose her nerve and just head back to Cassandra's. Knocking on his door, she realized that she still has no idea what she's going to say to him. Hearing Marco approach the door she braced her nerves. Having to remind herself that she is an Alpha and no man is gonna make her forget that. When he opened the door, they are both silent. She looked at him in nothing but some black joggers and noticed the white bandages that were covering his left hand. His facial expression full of defeat and shame. She walked up to him and kissed him hard. Marco brought her closer to him with his injured hand as he closes the door with the other. His kisses filled with so much emotion that they feel like tears that he refused to drop. They continued to kiss, Marco picked her up and took her to his bedroom. The dark sky started to lighten with the approach of the morning sun. With her dreads spread out all over the pillows and the sweat is still clinging to their bodies as they basked in their after sex bliss. A word still not being said between them as Marco played with her fingers. "I'm sorry." He said so softly she struggled to heart even with her enhanced hearing. He doesn't make eye contact with her. "I really don't know what came over me." She placed a finger over his lips and shushed him. "I get it. I dont know what it is either but you don't have to explain."
