Midnight Love

VII. Third Quarter

Marco was running aimlessly through the woods; searching for something but he doesn't know what. Yes he saw Celine more but he was still trying to figure out why he kept waking up in the woods. He continued to run when he is knocked against this barrier. He's shocked because he felt it but he could not see it. He began to tap and fiddle with it until his fingertips broke through. There was a snap of a twig behind him and before he could turn around to investigate he is pushed through the barrier by a dark haired beast. As he tumbled and rolled down into unknown territory he crashed against a giant tree and his glasses shatter. Even without them, he could see this huge black wolf with a white patch of fur over his right eye. It was approaching him as if he will be his dinner and dessert for tonight and Marco doesnt know what to do. As the wolf got close enough to growl in his face a white figure came so far it was as if it appeared out of nowhere and knocked the wolf away from Marco. As Marco put on his broken glasses and stood up, he sees the black wolf now fighting a beautiful white wolf. The same white wolf with burning lilac eyes that he had been seeing in his dreams for sometime now. Watching the battle between the wolves his world started to spin around him and he hits the ground unconscious. Celine fought the wolf who she discovered has been after Marco. Its Miles, who she thought was a loyal wolf in her pack. She doesn't even begin to question how Marco was able to get past their magic barrier. All she could think of was ripping Miles' head off. Her pack came to her as they fought until Miles' throat is latched between his Alpha's jaws until he submitted. As she shifted back to a human she commanded that they bring Marco to the healing area and take Miles to the dungeon. As Celine makes her way to his cell she heard him finally speak, "I just don't understand you Cel. You are the first female alpha of one of the largest packs in the northern hemisphere why would you want a human, when I can be by your side. We could rule this pack together and conquer anyone who doesn't fear us."Miles insisted. "So you broke the sacred rules of our heritage because you wanted to ruled by my side? Do you even hear yourself? You disrespected your Alpha because you felt like you deserved to rule?" She said as her anger began to take over.
"You attempted to hurt someone I care about, you destroyed his property, and you disrespected my home. Those crimes are unforgivable." She growled. "You have no idea what he is to you, do you?" He chuckled and looked at her like he just got the upper hand. Looked at Celine not threatened at all. Her eye twitched and her skin started to crawl as she felt herself wanting to shift and drop him where he stood. She didn't want to give him the satisfaction so she stood still waiting for him to continue.
He smirked as if it was an inside joke that only he was in on, "I can smell him on you even when you shift Celine. How do you think he was even able to break through the border?" Celine is stunned at what he was implying. "Come on baby girl," suddenly her hand is wrapped around his throat lifting him off the ground.
"You dare call your alpha a pet name as if we are of the same ranking," She felt her hand tighten and began crushing his larynx. She wanted to silence him once and for all. "Let me remind you that you are not an alpha, that you will never be an alpha after the sacred rules you have broken. You will always and forever will be a Omega. By time I'm done with you you won't even have a memory to leave behind." Tightening her hand around his vocal chords and watched him struggle and squirm. Her eyes turning a bright lilac as she feels her wolf scratching at the surface.

Someone opens the bars of the cell and interrupts them, "Alpha." Nicholas came in and said to Celine, "He's finally awake. He asked for you." She dropped Miles to the ground and left him choking and gasping for air. She turned and leaves out of the cell locking it behind her with a magic sigil on the gate. "He does not leave this cell until I come back. If he even moves the wrong way or bares his teeth," She looked Miles in the eyes, "Go on and pull his teeth out one and one." As she walked to where Marco was being treated, she thought about what Miles was referring to. Marco did follow her to woods but he wasn't supposed to break through the boundary-- unless he is a wolf which she would have picked up on so there's only one other way he could have gotten through. She cut her thoughts short not even wanting to think about how blind she has been. As she approached where they holding Marco. Isolated from the rest of the compound on the far east side of the Shadowlake. Near the waterfall so his scent would be masked from any other threats. Not knowing if Miles had anything else up his sleeve or if he wasn't working alone. She saw Eli first knowing that he would always be her first line of defense. As she passed through the doorway Eli questioned, "So this is the guy you've been hiding from us?" Popping her knuckles, "I wasn't really hiding him from anybody. I just didn't think he was important enough to introduce into our world no matter how bad I subconsciously wanted to." Shaking his head in understanding. He places his hand on her shoulder, "But you do realize the gravity of the situation now right? He is your mate which means he is in transition. You have to help him wrap him mind around the fact that he will become one of us. Whether he wants to or not. He doesn't get a choice."

As she walked through the threshold towards Marco, she realized that after the conversation they were about to have everything will change and she didn't know if she was ready for that. With her grandfather by her side, she broke down to Marco why he has been acting so strange and what these changes meant for him. She prepared for her fate assuming this would be the end of Marco and her. Even though she was his Alpha, she would refuse to force him to be with her if he didn't want to. Suddenly, before Marco could fully comprehend the conversation, bells rung off throughout the whole compound. Miles has escaped.
