"I'm fine"Those two words pushed together making it seem like everything's okay, but it's not.
You sit there thinking, contemplating, wondering 'why?'
And as you're in that daze so focused, tears begin to fill in your eyes.
You don't know why, and you couldn't even for a second begin to explain it.
So as you're looking down you wipe the small inch of salty water from your face, playing it off as if you're tired.
Without second thought you look up displaying a smile that doesn't seem to reach your eyes, saying those two words.
Those two words that mean so much, but say so little.
Those two words that give off a silent scream of 'help me'
Not even beginning to believe those words you force upon yourself, you chose to walk away.
Thinking about something-anything else.
Trying to avoid getting asked if you're okay again, because even though you can lie to not only the person, but yourself once.
You can't twice.
And you know if someone asks you just one more time you won't be able to hold back the tears, the pain, and the reoccurring thoughts.
But you try, you fail, and you break.
The flood gates open, and the sockets of your eyes become to wet, and begin to burn.
You crumble, and that wall you spent so much time building up falls before your eyes.
And as you take a breath, and begin to calm yourself down once more you repeat those two words.
Hoping to believe them just one time.
