Characters: I don't really know

Why did the King choose me? He could've chosen his best swordsman instead of a gunner. I don't have time to be saving a damsel in distress when I should be out there hunting for food for my little sister. I just hope that she's ok, the damn bastard of a king better have something useful for us in return.

I hop off the horse that I was given by the queen as I comb my hair back and gave an irritated sigh. Might as well rest here for a moment. I sat against a tree as the horse sat a few meters away from me.

I rested my head against the tree bark while trying to steady my breathing. I closed my eyes as the exhaustion I felt slowly disappeared before I finally went unconscious.

After a few hours, I heard faint music playing. I jerked my head up as my blurry vision cleared itself. Standing up, I wobbled a bit before finding myself following the sound.  I slowly and carefully made way to it and end up at a giant rock against a brick wall that's being surrounded by tress and covered by vines. I pressed my ears against the rock and listened, there's a faint music emitting from it, it was a bit louder than before.

"What the fuck?" I mumbled to myself- just as I was about to give up and walk away, the music stopped but I heard singing this time. It was also faint so I couldn't clearly hear it, also it was a little quieter than the music itself.

This time I had the urge to push the boulder aside. I went besides it and starting pushing. After struggling for some time, I managed to set it aside, I was shocked that I was able to even make it move an inch. I stepped back and was surprised to see some sort of entrance or opening.

I gulped and slowly walked in to see a set of stairs in a spiral manner leading up. This time I can clearly hear the music and the voice was a little louder than earlier. Could this be it? The princess's location? I didn't think I'd find it so soon, but then again sooner is better so let's get this over with...

I walked up the spiral stairs as the sounds became louder and louder. As I finally reach the top, I see a figure sitting in a chair, their back facing my direction as they play the flute in their hands. With a tiny bit of hesitation, I spoke "If you're who I think you are then I'm here to save you prin-"

They turned around slowly as I froze. "-cessss???" A... A guy? His eyes widened in fear as he fell off his chair. "H-How did you get in here?!" He hissed while rubbing the back of his head in pain. "Who are you?" I said in an irritated tone "who are YOU???" He stood up and backed away as he threw books at me. "H-hey!-" I covered my face with my hands "Stop!- wait-" He wouldn't listen so I did what I needed to do. I ducked and charged at him, grabbing his wrists and pinning them against the wall. "Stop." I ordered in a mean tone as he struggled against the wall.

I was about to shout at him for throwing books at me but then I felt him tremble slightly. Letting go of him, I started walking away. "I have no time for this shit" I mumbled while scratching my head. If I'm going to find the princess fast then I don't need to meddle with bullshit such as this guy. "No time for what exactly?" I heard him say behind me "it's none of your business so you can keep playing your damn stick and stay out of my way." I said with a harsh tone. I froze from what I said and I heard a soft giggle come from behind me. Shit- "th-that's not what I meant- I WAS TALKING ABOUT YOUR DAMN FLUTE OK?!" I screamed embarrassingly which only made him laugh louder.

After a few seconds he stopped. "But you're the one who came here without me knowing- you didn't tell me who you are either, also- who is this princess you speak off? Hey- are you listening??? Hey!" I gritted my teeth as I balled my fists- I turned around and grabbed his collar "What did I just say?"

"Pfft- To keep playing with my damn stick?" He chuckled while I glare at him. He put up two hands for defense while struggling to keep a straight face "alright alright I'm sorry."

"I hate you." Were the words that simply came out of my mouth instinctively.
