(Last class period)
-
As the school day started to come to a close, I walk into my last class. As I walk inside, I suddenly make eye contact with another guy in the room. My face turns red and I quickly look away. The boy had short, wavy black hair and big brown eyes. He's defiantly taller than me, probably by at least five inches, and had a muscular figure. I could tell he was into basketball by looking at his Missouri Tigers sweatshirt, along with a name of a player on the back of it. I sit at one of the desks and set my binder by my chair, looking towards the front of the room at the board. The bell rings and everyone scrambles to their seats. The teacher closes the classroom door and walks to the front of the room, "Okay everyone, for this week's assignment I'm going to be pairing you all up into groups of two for a project on Shakespeare." I start to feel a pit in my stomach. Not because of the assignment, but because we would have to partner with someone. I sit anxiously in my seat, quietly tapping my foot. I was extremely nervous to partner with someone in the class, especially because I wasn't close with anyone. The teacher starts to pair people off, and then she gets to me. "Raphael and Milo, you two will be partners." She says. I nod my head nervously, realizing I had no idea who Milo was.
(After class)

I stand at my locker, putting all of my things into my bag and throwing it over my shoulder. Out of the corner of my eye, I see the same boy from class walking up to me. "Hey, seems like we're partners for the English project." He says to me. I feel my face go hot as I look up at him. He was really attractive. Why did I feel so nervous around him? "Uh yeah, I'm guessing your Milo?" I say, gesturing to him. He nods, "And that would make you, Raphael was it?" He says to me. I nod, smiling at the fact that he remembered my name. "Yeah that's me." I say, looking into his eyes. He smiles, "Great! Do you want to exchange numbers so we can meet over the weekend or something?" He says. I immediately feel nervous again. Was he really asking for my number? I nod, "Uh, yeah! Sounds great." I say quickly. He laughs, "Great, here's my info." He says. We exchange numbers and say our goodbyes. I walk away smiling, for some reason I feel happy. Giddy, almost. I walk to the stair well, quickly running down the stairs and outside. I wanted to tell Kara and James about Milo. I quickly scan the court yard for them. Seeing them, I sprint over to them. "Woah there! Somebody's excited, what happened?" James says, laughing. I catch my breath and look at them with wide eyes. "Guys I really need to talk to you about something!" I say to them, panting a little. Kara laughs, "Do you wanna go to Junior's and talk about it?" She says, wrapping her arm around my shoulder. I nod my head frantically. They both laugh, "And we're off!" Kara says, dramatically pointing to the sky. We all laugh at her, she's always been the funny one in our group. I was the only one without a license yet, so we all piled into James' car. James turns the car on and pulls out of the school parking lot, driving down the main road. "Hey Raph, how's Vivian?" Kara askes, turning around in her seat and looking at me. I shrug, looking at her with solemn filled eyes. "I dunno, I took her to the nurse's office and went to class. I haven't seen her all day." I say, sighing. James looks at Kara with confusion, "Wait, what happened to Vivian?" James says, turning into the Junior's parking lot. "She was really high this morning and started throwing up." Kara says, rolling her eyes. James sighs, looking at me in the mirror, "Dude..you need to break up with her. I don't know how else to tell you. Your not happy, I can tell." James says, and Kara nods in agreement. I sigh, "I know, but she's insane! I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted me dead afterwards." I say quietly. James finds a parking spot, parking his car into and turning the engine off. "Raph..we won't let her hurt you. Ever. We love you, and we just want you to be happy." James says, turning around in his seat and looking at me. I smile faintly, looking up at him. "I'll see what I can do." I say. We all get out of the car, walking up to the door of Junior's. Junior's was a diner that we had always gone to when we wanted to hang out, or if someone had big news. It was pretty small, but always reminded me of a sixty's diner. It gave you a warm, homey feeling. We walk in and grab a booth towards the back of the diner. I sit down, scooting towards the wall and letting Kara sit next to me. "Okay pretty boy, what do you wanna tell us?" Kara says, tapping her fingers on the table excitingly. I laugh shyly, rubbing my neck. "Well..I went to my english class today, and Ms. Winston said we had to do a project on Shakespeare." I tell them, "But here's the catch, we have to do it with a partner." Kara looks at me, "And I'm guessing your not too happy about that?" She says, smirking. My face turns red, "Well I didn't think I'd like it, until I met my partner." I say, looking away shyly. Kara and James' eyes light up, "What?!" James says excitedly. I laugh nervously. Kara looks at my with wide eyes and a smile planted on her lips, "Do you like her?" She says quietly. My face goes hot and I start to tense up. "Uh well... yeah. But it's not a she." I say quietly and nervously, "Guys..I think I might be gay."
