Chapter 2

Raphaela finds she has at least one villain kid in each of her classes; all four in music.

When she arrives to said class, she takes a seat behind Carlos giving him a timid hello. He smiles in response making her heart flutter at the sight.

She opens her books and begins doodling as she is unable to think of a way to start up a conversation. It isn't until Mal shows up and sits next to her that one is created.

"You draw?" Mal asks grabbing her notebook and looking at the drawings.

"Well, those are just doodles," Raphaela blushes.

Carlos glances at the book, he compliments them.

"These are cool, nice to know someone here is," Mal says which Raphaela takes as a compliment.

The conversation is stopped when the teacher comes in and calls for everyone's attention.

"Hello class, my name is Professor Jodi Benson, you may call me Professor Benson and I am your music teacher. As this is the first day, I want to take things easy and have everyone come up introduce themselves and what their favorite song is," the teacher instructs.

Some students groan, others, like Audrey, raise their hands to go first.

"Now, let's go around the room so no one can wiggle their way out of this." Her eyes shift over to the villain kids as if she thinks they're going to be trouble just because of their parentage. This makes Raphaela's blood boil but she keeps her mouth shut. She doesn't want to get detention on the first day.

Each student goes up, says their name and each song they pick deals with their parents. For example, Audrey chooses "Once Upon A Dream", Chad, Cinderella and Charming's son, chooses "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes", and Doug chooses "Heigh Ho".

When it comes to Carlos, everyone looks up and watches him warily. They wonder if they even have music on the Isle.

When he looks out at the class, his brown eyes grow wider as he takes in everyone's expressions. Some bored, some sleepy, but some are disgusted. That someone like him is allowed in Auradon. His gaze flickers over to Raphaela's but she looks on with interested and hopeful eyes. "Go on. It's okay," she mouths.

"Hi, I'm Carlos De Vil. I, um, grew up on the Isle of the Lost. My favorite song is Cruella De Vil by Roger Radcliffe." He smiles and leaves the front of the classroom. Ava's head shoots up at the mention of her father. His classmates look on in confusion wondering why; so does the teacher.

"May I ask why," she quizzes him.

"When she was really nasty, I'd hum it and she'd get really annoyed but would leave me alone for awhile," he replies with a soft voice. So soft, the teacher must lean in to hear him.

Now, it is Raphaela's turn as she heads up but not before giving Carlos a reassuring squeeze on his shoulder. She knows it must've been hard to share something like that. With her answer, she will take the attention off him and put it on her. All while speaking truthfully.

"Hi," she greets, "I'm Raphaela. I enjoy many hobbies and the song "Rotten to the Core" written by the VK's."

Shocked gasps are heard from the students and some murmurs. The teacher's eyes grow wide, obviously stunned that the daughter of a princess would chose such a song.
