"A Day at Home"
I woke up the next morning and rolled over. I didn’t know I was that close to the edge and fell off. I just laid there stunned for a minute before I stood up.
“Did you fall out of the bed,” Aidan asked me as he sat up.
“Maybe,” I said as I rubbed my butt and walked over to my dresser. I pulled open my top drawer and grabbed a tank top. After I pulled it on I reached down to the bottom drawer and grabbed a pair of my jean shorts.
“You have to be the biggest klutz ever,” he said laughing as he stood up to get dressed.
“Shut up,” I said rolling my eyes as I brushed my hair.
“You know I still love you,” he said with a smile.
“I don’t care,” I said as I grabbed my tooth brush and walked across the hall to the bathroom. I walked in and got ready to start brushing my teeth. He walked in a few minutes later and wrapped his arms around my waist.
“What,” I asked him after I spit out the toothpaste.
“I don’t know. I’m just happy,” he said smiling at me.
“Me to,” I said smiling back as I turned in his arms to kiss him.
“You taste minty,” he said when he pulled back.
“Well I was in the process of brushing my teeth,” I said in a duh tone of voice.
“Well then,” he said jokingly.
“Brush your teeth and then come downstairs for breakfast,” I said as I gave him another kiss and left out of the room. I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. When I walked in I saw Dustin standing at the sink. I wanted to turn around and leave but I wasn’t gonna run away from him when this was my house.
“Good morning,” I said when I walked in.
“Morning,” he said quietly. I could feel him staring at me as I walked over to the refrigerator. I grabbed the eggs and bacon from the refrigerator and put them on the counter. Then I turned around and grabbed the cheese. I decided I wanted a bacon omelet. I wanted veggies to so I reached back in the drawer and grabbed some tomatoes and bell peppers.
I laid it out on the counter and grabbed a cutting board and a knife before I started chopping up the veggies. When I was done I took a small skillet and put a little bit oil in the bottom before tossing the bell peppers in. Then I grabbed another skillet and started cooking the bacon.
“That looks good,” Dustin said as he came to stand next to me.
“It seemed like a good breakfast,” I said with a shrug.
“You need any help,” he asked. I just gave him a funny look. “I promise I won’t start anything.”
“Then yeah. Can you stir the bell peppers while I cut up the cheese,” I asked.
“Absolutely,” he said seeming happy. I finished with the cheese and flipped the bacon over. We seemed to be moving in harmony and I was starting to enjoy myself.
