You had agreed to meet up with an old friend that you haven't seen since being in school. You two used to be really close friends but when you both left to go and do other things you drifted apart. It was hard to keep up the friendship seen as you were both in different cities. You were coming back to your home town for a while and so was he, so you agreed to meet up. There was only one problem with the situation; your boyfriend, Tristan.
Once you told Tristan about your plans to go for a coffee with your friend he wasn't happy. He pretended like nothing was wrong but was blunt to you for the rest of the night so you knew he was annoyed by it, although you didn't understand why.
"Why are you so annoyed by me going out, for a coffee, with someone who I haven't seen in years?" You asked, while you and Tristan were sitting at opposite ends of the sofa. It had been hours since you had told him you were going out the next day and he was still ignoring you.
"Tristan, stop giving me the silent treatment... It's so fucking annoying." You muttered, your anger growing. You couldn't believe he was actually annoyed, and still didn't have any clue why.
"What do you want me to say? I have nothing to say about it. Have fun." He spat back, standing up from the couch and walking out of the room, towards the bedroom.
"For fuck sake!" You shouted, getting up and following him. "What is the big deal? This is so pathetic!"
"Pathetic? Really? Oh so now I'm pathetic for caring about my girlfriend and being a little bit jealous that she's hanging out with a guy she used to get on so well with... You're my girl, Lily" Tristan span around on the spot and shouted back.
"You're jealous?" You muttered, a small smirk forming on your lips.
"That's all you got from that?" Tristan sighed, rolling his eyes.
"Pretty much." You laughed, slightly. You sat down on the bed and patted the spot next to you for Tristan to sit down too.
"Look, Tris. There's no need for you to be jealous. I love you and only you. Lily and I have known each other for years and never had feelings for each other, that's hardly going to change now, is it? Please just trust me..."
"I do trust you, Lily. I know, you're right... I'm sorry. I just get so worried that one day you're going to wake up and not want to be with me, or one day you're going to find someone better." Tristan sighed.
You wrapped your arms around him and pulled him close to you so a cuddle.
"That'll never happen, I will always want to be with you and it's going to be pretty impossible to find someone better than you." You grinned, causing Tristan to grin too.
"I love you so much, you know?" Tristan said, pressing a kiss to your head.
"I love you too."
