Connor and you had been best friends since high school. You couldn't remember how you had first started speaking to each other but as soon as you did you clicked. You had so much in common and got along with him better than you had with any of your other friends. You started hanging around with hi and even going to each other's houses' after school some days.
Now you had long left high school and you and Connor were still the best of friends. You were incredibly close to each other's families and whenever Connor was back from touring you would try and spend as much time as you could together.
Whenever you were together people would always point out how you would be a great couple. You would both blush, look away from each other and just change the subject. Connor and you had discussed being boyfriend and girlfriend before, and you couldn't deny that you both felt an attraction towards each other but the timing was never right. Plus, if you were to go out you would want everything to be done properly and be special.
You didn't want to have a normal, boring relationship like the ones you had both had in the past. You wanted something new and exciting. You wanted to feel like you were loved every single day and you knew Connor would be the only person who could make you feel like that.
Connor was currently at the end of the UK tour and was coming back home to Hatton tomorrow. You were currently texting him about meeting up when he was back home, but the conversation quickly turned to the topic of you and him dating again.
"So, when I get home are you gonna let me take you on a date? ;) X" Connor texted you.
"Is that your way of asking me on a date? X" You replied.
Minutes later Connor replied again. "Only if you want... X"
"You're not asking me out over text, I suppose we'll just have to wait until tomorrow. X" You texted back.

You woke up to the sound of your doorbell ringing. You left it for someone else to answer before realising everyone else had gone to work and you had a day off, which meant you were home alone. You threw on your dressing gown over your pyjamas and almost ran down the stairs.
You expected to open the door to the post man so you were in shock when you saw Connor standing in front of you.
"I thought you weren't going to be here until later today?" You questioned him while going in for a hug, which he returned.
"So did I but we got home late last night and I thought I'd surprise you." He grinned, "Anyway you need to hurry up and get ready."
"For what?" You laughed, letting him in and shutting the door behind him.
"Our date." He smirked.

As you were sitting in the park on the grass Connor took out a basket from the back seat of his car.
"Are we having a picnic?" You asked, although the answer was pretty obvious.
"Yes we are." Connor grinned, walking over to you and sitting down next to you.
You smiled back as Connor opened the basket and took out the food. You saw that he had brought every food you liked that he possibly could, which made your heart swell a little at the thought of him doing all that for you.

You had spent the whole day with Connor and it was starting to get darker now. As he drove you home you watched him from the passenger seat and realised you were truly in love with your best friend. You didn't want to be with anyone but him and you didn't care how crazy that made you sound. You were in love.
Connor stopped outside your house and smiled at you softly.
"I had an amazing time today, Jessica." Connor whispered, holding your hand in his.
"Me too," You grinned back. "It was such a fun date, maybe we should go for a second?"
"Was it that good?" Connor laughed before nodding. "I'd like a second date."
"Perfect, just say whenever." You smiled and noticed Connor's eyes falling to look at your lips.
"I wanna kiss you so bad." You heard him mutter.
"Then what are you waiting for?" You smirked as he leaned in to kiss you.
Nothing felt more right in that moment, and little did you know then but that was the first time Connor realised he was head over heels in love with you like you were with him.
