Connor, your boyfriend of 4 years, had planned a surprise trip away to Paris for your anniversary together. He hadn't told you where you were going until you were at the airport, about to board the plane. As soon as you found out it was Paris you almost squealed in excitement, but played it cool in front of all the other passengers, and Connor. You had always wanted to go to Paris, especially with Connor. It looked such a romantic and beautiful city from the pictures you had seen.
You both thanked the flight attendants as you stepped off the plane and walked down the stairs to get on to the ground. You walked from the plane to the terminal holding your hand luggage in one hand and Connor's hand in the other.
"So, what's the first thing we're going to do?" You asked Connor, desperate to see Paris and all it had to offer.
"Well we need to check in to our hotel but after that we can do whatever you want, baby." Connor smiled, pressing a kiss to your temple.

It had been 2 days since you had arrived in Paris and today was the day of your anniversary. You had already visited most of the places you wanted to, including the Eiffel Tower which was absolutely amazing. Beforehand, you didn't think you were going to be able to make it to the top but you did, with the help of Connor.
Tonight you were going out for a fancy meal at a restaurant you had always wanted to go to in Paris. You were shocked when Connor said he had reservations since it was always known for being so busy and full booked at all times, you had checked on their website before and it said that you had to book months in advance, which made you wonder Connor had been planning this trip for.
As you were searching through your suitcase for a necklace you had packed Connor walked through to the bedroom of the apartment he had rented out for you both. It had a beautiful view overlooking a busy street and made you feel like you were in the heart of Paris. Even though you still had a couple of days left you knew you were going to miss it and the thought of going back to reality and boring, everyday life made you feel upset that it had to end.
"Looking for your necklace?" Connor asked, sitting down on the edge of the bed behind you, with his hands behind his back.
"Yeah," you muttered. "I think it'll go well with the dress I've got picked out." You pointed to the dress on the bed, beside Connor.
It was your favourite dress you owned, it made you feel like a superstar walking down a red carpet whenever you wore it. It was a red, lace dress and suited your figure perfectly.
"I love that dress," Connor smiled to you. "But, I think it would look better with this necklace instead..."
He took his hands from behind his back and revealed a small black box. You looked up at him with a grin and took the box from his hands, opening it to find a gorgeous, diamond love heart necklace.
"Oh my god Connor, it's absolutely stunning." You exclaimed, removing it from the box. He took it from your hands as you spun around so you had your back to him and he put it around your neck, fastening it before you spun back around, still sitting cross legged.
"Thank you so so much!" You grinned, reaching up to press a kiss on his lips.
Just as Connor started to deepen the kiss you started to pull away, a smirk on your face.
"I guess I better get ready or we're going to be late for our reservation." You gave your most innocent smile as he rolled his eyes, standing up and making his way out of the room.
"I love you." He said before leaving.
"I love you more!" You shouted back, just as he shut the door.

Once you got to the restaurant it was as busy as you thought it would be. Even though you had to book prior to going, people were still cueing outside trying to get a seat, if there was a cancellation. You were immediately escorted to a table after Connor gave his name and confirmed his booking. When you sat down you couldn't help feel so lucky as the waiter offered to take your jacket and you saw the view from outside. It was little side street with cute lighting hanging from the buildings. You quickly took a picture on your phone before turning your attention to the menu that was placed in front of you.
Thankfully there was an English translation below everything, so you knew what you were ordering.

You had finished your meal and just as you were going to suggest to Connor that you should go back to the apartment and have a night to yourselves he asked if you wanted to get a desert. Straight away you said said yes and you both decided on sharing a chocolate fondue with strawberries.
As soon as the waiter left, giving you both a smile, Connor looked like he was worried about something, or nervous. You knocked your knee against his to get his attention, which worked, he diverted his attention away from wherever he was looking at looked at you.
"Everything okay?" You asked, giving a concerned look. He gave a fake smile, one you had seen many times before, before nodding. Instead of questioning him about it you decided to just drop it, you knew if it was something important he would tell you when he was ready.
You and Connor made, very little, small talk until the waiter came back and placed the chocolate fondue in the middle of the table. He put down a plate of strawberries beside it.
As you and Connor ate the strawberries dipped in chocolate, laughed about basically everything and talked until you had almost nothing left to talk about... Although with Connor, you knew that could never happen... The night was quickly coming to an end.
You sat, sipping on champagne as Connor fed you the last chocolate covered strawberry before kissing the remaining chocolate off your lips. You felt content and like nothing could make this moment more special.
"One last thing." Connor said, just as you were about to take the jacket off the back of your chair.
"I know you hate big things like this but you mean so much to me, and I want everyone to know. I can't imagine life without you and the thought of getting to call you mine for the rest of my life makes me the happiest man alive. I want nothing more than to always wake up to your face, even if you're grumpy. I love you more than anything,Isabella. You mean the world to me." Connor smiled, moving off his seat and getting down on one knee.
Your hand flew up to cover your mouth as everyone in the restaurant diverted their attention to the two of you. He opened a small black box from his back pocket, revealing a small beautiful diamond ring which matched the necklace he got you earlier.
"Would you make me the happiest man alive and be my wife?" Connor asked, smiling up at you although you could see a hint of worry in his face.
You were completely speechless so all you could do was nod but that was all Connor needed. He almost jumped off the floor before kneeling beside you and sliding the ring on to your finger. You wrapped your arms around his neck and finally managed to mumble the word 'yes' into his neck a million times.
Everyone in the restaurant had started clapping and although you hated the thought of everyone staring at you, you didn't mind this time. When you pulled away from Connor's hug, you pressed a kiss to his lips immediately, which he returned.
"I love you so much Connor." You mumbled, resting your forehead against his as tears were streaming down your face.
"I love you so much more, Isabella." Connor replied, tears spilling down his own cheeks, kissing you again.
