Tap, tap, tap.
Tap, tap, tap.
Drop after drop, after yet another drop.
Jade watched as the, obviously, unfixed water tap kept losing it's drops that apparently never end. The sound of each drop making a boink on the very rusty and old sewer grabbed her.
At least it's less rusted than my hair is...
She thought, towering over the school bathroom's counter with both her hands holding her steadily on both sides of the sink. She looked at the scene before her, fascinated.
Most people would hurry and close the noisy tap as hard and as fast as possible, to check themselves out in the mirrors or apply another layer of lip gloss in peace, or just the mere good deed of conserving water for this, what Jade thought, miserable planet. But no, the broken tap held so much more meaning to Jade than just a broken tap.
Drop falls after another, a regretful mistake drags another...And it always ends in the pit of her heart, with definitely a louder shattering than a boink...
What's the point of her trying? What's the point of her fighting every day? What's the point of her trying with Leo, James, her parents, her brother, her achievements? For just a feeling of, what people call, true bliss? But doesn't anybody think that it's too much effort for such a reward that's a ridiculous feeling? For unuseful emotions such as rising pride? Wh~
Her thoughts were chopped clean off her mind by the opening of the door knob, and in came one of the cheerleaders she doesn't very much prefer to have as company, even if it's for a small talk in the bathroom. But this one is a bit special, this one, Jade knows what she's having trouble with.
It's being controlled.
But she had to teach her, in some way, that she has to speak for her own opinions of people sometimes. But she'll do it the hard way.
Jade, boiling up her plan in her mind, stared at the ever so nervous and poor Molly. Then Molly broke the silence by running the water tap, the one very far away from Jade's.
Poor Molly already looks so nervous doesn't she?
And she did.
So Jade leaned against the wall, and looked at Molly's every move. For Molly, it felt like hours washing her hands, under the burning eyes of Jade. She felt her throat closing, and she couldn't swallow whatever was forming up in her throat.
Stop staring at me, please. I know, I know, Jade, I'm sorry, but I shouldn't tell you that,I should stay strong for Jessica! The one that pressures me into things, but that's the thing! I'm nothing without her! Nor Lucy! If I didn't do what she's doing I'm going to end up being a joke, so there's no comfort for me in both sides, anyway...I..I..Ughhh.
She squeezed her eyes hardly, and Jade noticed that, she frowned a little, feeling sorry for her and wanted to ask if she's okay, but she was taken aback by Molly's out burst.
"I'm sorry, okay!"
Jade looked at her dumbfounded, but then had the cold look on her face again and composed herself. Molly needs it, it's for her own good.
"What are you sorry for, exactly, Molly?" She had to hear her say it.
"You know what."
"No, enlighten me."
Molly clenched her jaw, after building the courage to apologize, Jade's still acting like an ass! She shouldn't have done this anyway! Big mistake, what is she thinking? Jessica is the right person to stick with, and she always will.
