checking through emails as i absentmindedly listened to a friends episode, i came across a sponsorship. hey liza! this is sandra from nike. i was wondering- my reading was interrupted by a knock at the door. i ignored it for a second, figuring it was a package being dropped off or something. when they knocked again, i slid off the couch, slightly aggravated, and walked to the front door.

opening the door, i was surprised to see gabbie standing there... with a rose and a box of chocolate-covered strawberries. she saw me, and her face brightened. i was still confused and decided to tread on the subject lightly. "um, gabbie? is there something you need to tell me?" i asked, not sure why a female was showing up on my doorstep with a rose... and strawberries. she giggled a little.

"happy friendiversary!" she beamed, holding out the rose. i smiled and held the door open wider. she stepped inside, and i quickly set the things down that were in her hands, so i could hug her. i couldn't believe i was lucky enough to have spent six years being this girl's friend. "you know we don't lie to each other, so i'm gonna be honest. i forgot," i chuckled, biting my lip and looking up at her apprehensively. she laughed. "don't worry about it. you didn't think i'd let you eat those alone, did you?" i smiled, not sure what i did to deserve her.

we walked back over to the couch, and she didn't hesitate making herself at home. she practically lived here eighty percent of the time anyways. i brought the strawberries over, and she was already changing the show on netflix to something else. "oh, go ahead. i wasn't watching that," i teased. she grinned. "great," she smiled, putting on an episode of grey's anatomy.

plopping down onto the couch, i held out the box of strawberries, and she grabbed one as i took a bite into mine. she leaned her head on my shoulder as she ate the sweet fruit. "ya know, i'm more committed to you than any other relationship i've been in," she said, still looking at the tv. "oh, i know," i said, playfully making fun of her love life.

"every year, friendiversary comes around, and we do nothing," i mentioned. "hey! that's not true. i always buy you a rose because i'm a gentleman," she said matter-of-factly. i laughed. "yeah, but besides that, we just sit here." she shrugged, eating the red fleshy part from around the green stem of the berry. "i don't mind. it's nice just being around you," she smiled.
