Everything Is Not What it Seems

Chapter 29

~ Sophia's POV ~

"Rise and shine cuddle birds!" Beckett said in a sing song voice. I opened my eyes and seen Beckett standing outside the vehicle holding onto the door. Jason and me both sat up. As I looked behind Beckett I realized there was snow on the ground. Jason slid out of the vehicle first then held out his hand and helped me out. "Where are we?" I asked looking at Beckett. We opened up the passenger door and got our stuff out. "We're at the cabin. My brother owns it but he's letting us use it." When I looked over to the cabin house I seen an amazing house with snow laying on the roof. We walked up to the house as the snow crunched under our feet and Beck unlocked the house. We all walked inside and walked upstairs. Beck walked us down a hall to a bedroom with dark grey walls. "Here's your guy's room and it has a bathroom attached. I'll be in the room down the hall by the the stairs." Beck said walking out of the room. I walked over to the dresser and sat my bag down. Jason did the same as I walked to the bed and turned my back to it then falling back onto the bed. "Your not gonna lay here and stare at the wall are you?" Jason asked walking over to me and sat down on the bed crossing his legs. "Maybe... Maybe not..." I said closing my eyes. All a sudden I felt Jason's hand on my neck tickling me. "Jason stop." I said leaning my head on his hand. "Oh, looks like someones ticklish!" he said getting up and straddling my hips. "Jason don't you dare." I said trying to push him off of me but he didn't budge. "Nah." he said smiling as he began to tickle my waist. I tried to get out from under him but my plan failed. "J-Jason s-stop it!" I yelled out in laughter. "Why? You seem to be having fun sense your laughing." he said laughing. "It's n-not fun-funny Jase." I hollered between laughs. He grabbed my wrists and pinned them above my head. "Know tell me what's wrong? Why have you been laying around and not doing much?" he asked looking straight into my eyes. "Nothing. I've just been tired." I lied. "If you don't tell me I'll tickle you till you tell me." he said with a straight face. "Jason nothings wrong." I said looking back with the same face expression. He let go of my wrists and just sat there for a while. "Fine we'll do it the hard way." he started to poke me in the side then started tickling me. "Jason I said I'm fine." I said squirming trying to get away. "I know your not okay. You don't just lay around and stare at walls when your tired. What are you depressed about?" Jason asked pinning my wrists down again. "Fine, Jason. I'm not okay but you should know why." I said turning my head to look away from him. He let go of my arm and softly moved my head to face him. "Is this about your family thinking your dead?" he asked staring at my eyes looking for answers. "What do you think Jason?" I said rolling my eyes. "It was the only thing I could do to keep you safe. If I wouldn't have done that you would be back at home and me in jail. Or even worse you could be dead." he said. As I looked into his eyes he looked sad. We stares at each others eyes. He had the most magnificent chocolate brown eyes. "BECKETT!" Jason yelled over his shoulder. Beck came jogging into the room with a worried face. "What? What happened?" he asked and Jason just chuckled at his response. "Does your brother have a snowmobile with snow pants, coats and boots?" Jason asked. Beck thought a while, "Yeah it'd be down in the shed and the clothes would be in the closet in the garage. Is that all you needed?" Beck asked turning to face the door. "Yeah that's all I needed." Jason said as Beck walked out of the room. Jason turned to face me and smiled. "We're going to go ride around." he said wiggling his eyebrows. I punched him in the upper arm. He just chuckled and slowly got up pulling me up with him. He grabbed my hand as we walked down the hall and down the stairs into the living room. We walked into the kitchen and through the door leading to the garage. There was a cabinet on the other side of the room. When we opened it up we found a handful of coats, snow pants and boots with gloves and hats. Jason grabbed out two outfits and handed mine to me. We slid the clothing over our regular clothes and put our boots on. After getting dressed we walked out into the cold weather and headed over to the shed. There were four snowmobiles lined up. Jason pushed a two seater out into the snow then hooked up a sled behind it. He climbed on as he patted the seat behind him. "Have you ever drove one of these?" I asked slowly getting on debating weather or not this was safe. "Yeah I've known how to drive these for what seems like forever." he turned it on and started to drive. He floored it down a path through the woods.

After riding for around 20 minutes we slowed down to a stop at the top of a hill. We climbed off the snowmobile and Jason unhooked the sled and laid it at the top of the hill. "Get on." he said smiling as he sat down. I sat down between his legs and held onto the sides. Jason scooted the sled till it started to slide down the hill. As it slowly started he laid one of his hands over mine and the other around my waist. The sled soon started to pick up speed and we were flying down the hill. After we got to the bottom of the hill our speed started to slow down. When we stopped we got up and Jason grabbed the sled as we walked up the hill. I didn't realize till now but this hill is very steep. When we got to the top we road down the hill a few more times. As we were at the top of the hill Jason was about to push us down the hill when he spoke up, "I have an idea. turn around so you facing me." I didn't know if this was safe but I stood up then sat back down facing Jason. He grabbed both my legs and wrapped them around his waist. "Jason is this safe?" I asked as he pushed off the ground and wrapped his arms around me. "We'll find out." We were getting close to the bottom when out of no where Jason yells, "Get ready!". Before I could ask 'Why' Jason leaned over so we fell off the sled. We rolled a few times and when we stopped Jason was on top of me. We both had our arms wrapped around each other looking into each others eyes. Then the creepy part is we both looked down at each others lips at the same time. When we made eye contact and we both smiled. Jason leaned down and our lips collided. Our mouths moved in sync until we pulled back to catch our breath. We just laid there staring into each others eyes like we were the only ones on earth. After a while Jason rolled off of me and we both stood up. We walked up the hill Jason dragging the sled behind him. "Do you wanna go for a drive or continue sledding?" he asked. I thought it over, "I like the idea of riding the snowmobile." I said smiling. He smiled back hooking the sled back on then we both got on. Before Jason turned it on he turn and looked at me, "Do you want me to teach you how to drive a snowmobile?" he asked with a smile. "Sure!" I smiled. "Okay. Let me get us to an open field or something so we have more room." and with that he turned it on and drove away from the hill.

When we pulled up to a field Jason hopped off and let me move forward. He got back on behind me and wrapped and arm around me. "Ok so this thing right here is the gas." he said pointing to the throttle on the right side. "and here is the brake." he said pointing to a lever on the left side. "Okay." I said smiling. I slowly pressed down on the throttle and we started to move. At first I was nervous but after a few laps around the field and I got use to it. After I was done I drove it over to where we entered the field and hopped off. Jason moved forward as I sat behind him wrapping my arms around his waist. "Did you have fun?" he asked as we drove through the woods. "Yeah it was fun, thanks for teaching me how to drive it." I said giving his a hug. "Yeah no problem your a quick learner." he said. I was looking into the woods and seen a dark figure run from a tall tree into a group of pine trees. "Jase did you just see that?" I asked him holding on a little tighter. "Yeah," he said speeding up a bit.
