The flight was a long one but it felt even longer to the students since each and every one of them was a little anxious on getting to the infamous destination. It was exactly 2:55pm when they arrived at the airport. They stood in a pyramid formation surveying the environment. The atmosphere was hot and moist from the scorching sun. Erika took off her leather jacket and held it on both arms cleaning droplets of sweat on her fore head. They watched as different people of various races walked about either talking to the officials or seating on the waiting benches. Eighty percent of the people were blacks so it was logical since they were in Africa. For an airport it was rather unkempt as the tiled floor although mopped seemed dusty. Chewed gums could be seen stuck on the floor at intervals and the trash cans looked as if the cleaning staff was on a holiday. Whitney wasn't concerned about all these details. The only thing that crossed her mind at that moment was sun bathing.
"Do you think they have beaches here?" Whitney inquired at Brandon and didn't get a response.

"I haven't tanned in weeks." She added feeling the skin on her arms.

"This is an educational field trip not a holiday in Hawaii." Ruby countered completely irritated by her.

Brandon only picked up his bag and moved towards Rory who was surveying the environment.

"I wasn't talking to you Bella Lugosi!." She growled back at Ruby who only raised her hands in surrender.
Instantly Mr. Cyril dashed in with the huge man from earlier trailing behind him like a body guard.

"Alright everyone let's get going." He announced not stopping but heading towards the direction of the exit. They all trailed behind them and were soon greeted by a maroon and white painted bus. The words Deconfidence Setters College were boldly written on it in cursive. The design was a little too much making it look like the work of a kindergartner
.
"I guess this is our...ride?" Rory inquired still examining the bus as Mr. Cyril and the huge man unlocked it and began opening the doors and the trunk. Brandon only glared at the thing imagining what would have happened if he was ever caught in a rainbow bus like this. They'd probably think he was gay and he will never get any ass again, unless it was that of men. He cringed at the thought of that and shivered a little.
The bus wasn't as big as the one they had back at Chicago which had dozens of seats. It was a minibus with mini windows.
"Are you guys coming or what?" Mr. Cyril inquired at the students who looked at the bus as if it was a space ship. Erika was the first to get in the bus before the others joined her. Although the outside of the bus seemed neat, the inside was quite the opposite. The white paint had started peeling exposing the silver metal and the foam on some seats were violently sticking out. Some had no foam at all but just the metal frame. There were faint writings on the wall and the roof. Some were vulgarities, nicknames and even drawings of animations and nudes. Whitney cringed feeling as though she was in the boys bathroom and avoided touching the wall were she sat.
The bus started moving and they soon left the airport arena. The students all sat on window seats and were able to see their surroundings closely. They watched as hawkers and vendors moved about hawking either fruits, vegetables or clothes on hangers. For a highway it was crowded with people and Rory wondered how often accidents occurred. Whitney internally teased the women who dressed in rags and some that wore colors that battled against each other. She almost gasped at the sight of a lady in a long flowing yellow dress that looked like a night dress and a pair of bright purple snickers. Erika noticed some guys in jeans that were ripped more than they were supposed to be and shook her head in annoyance. One of the guys had his ripped from his lap to his calves. She loved ripped jeans but hated it when people went overboard with it.

They soon got to a roundabout that had the statue of a big ball on a pavement.

"Whoa." Ruby and Rory let out simultaneously.
They both marveled at the architecture and the details. From what Ruby had heard about African countries she wasn't expecting this. The monument was isolated by a circular demarcated ground and had projectors besides it that displayed commercials and other adverts. This caused it to occupy almost half of the area.
Mr. Cyril glanced back and watched as the students surveyed the city. He smirked catching a glimpse of Brandon who marveled at the ball statue. All Brandon thought about was how big it was and how it will be sweet if only he could carry it just as only Thor could with his hammer. The traffic at the roundabout gave the students enough time to enjoy the sight. Erika wasn't impressed at all haven seen the statue of liberty, this was nothing compared to it.

"This is called stadium roundabout." Mr. Cyril announced and Brandon was the first to reply.
"I don't see any stadiums." He said properly assessing the area.
"There is a huge one in a corner by the right."
"Oh."
"Not what you were expecting right...as we go deeper you'll see that Nigeria isn't a place with people living in huts and tying piece of clothes to cover their privates but a developed and regular place like any other in the world."
They went back to surveying without any responses.
Whitney felt bored until they crossed a bridge with a river underneath it and the question she had been dying to ask all day popped back ] into her head.
"Uhm Mr. Cyril are there any beaches around here." She blurted out causing Ruby and a few others to roll their eyes.
"Only one and it is not in this part of the country."
Her heart fell as the little bit of hope she had varnished. Ruby smirked at that and couldn't help but conclude that the trip wasn't going to be so bad after all.

Almost an hour later the bus made a turn into a bushy area. There were no houses or people and the floor wasn't tarred but stony and hilly. The bus danced side to side as they made their way deeper into the area.
Whitney was a little petrified and gripped the sides of the window to keep her from falling. She turned back to Brandon who sat firmly on his chair as if they were gliding in the air.
"Where are they taking us to." She whimpered.
Brandon scowled at her and turned his face away to face the window.
"Seriously?!" she groaned.
"Maybe they are taking us to chop off our heads or to be sold into slavery." Erika teased earning herself a sharp glare. She giggled and was about to add something snarky but was silenced as they came to a large gate painted milk and maroon. It also had the school badge on it. The walls around it were not painted but properly loaded with barb wires. They all looked at it as though they had just arrived at a horror house.
"Welcome to Deconfidence students." Mr. Cyril announced gleefully.
