“Seriously popcorn girl?” Ruby said dumbfound as the petit, brown haired girl from the Pep rally waltzed into the classroom that was tagged “Nigeria, Africa.”  The girl only scowled at her before taking a seat directly behind her. It was another day in Blossom high and it was the day the seniors were to meet with the referees of their designated countries. Currently in the Nigerian group, Ruby was sketching a stickman on a random piece of paper she had found on the floor earlier. Although she wasn’t happy with where she had been posted to, she let it slide not really caring since she had never actually been to Africa. She felt it might be a good experience for her and maybe she could even salvage an interesting report from it. Not a second later Brandon walked into the classroom looking like a lost puppy. His eyes wondered around the classroom area before they landed on an angry pair.
“Did I kill your dog?” Brandon contorted his face at Ruby who was now glaring daggers at him. She quickly shifted her gaze back to the paper on her desk while he went and found himself a seat at the back of the class. Ruby couldn’t stand egotistical jocks like Brandon who thought they were better than everyone else. Having him on the same trip with her was the worst punishment anyone could give her. About ten minutes later another guy rushed into the classroom taking a seat behind the classroom not giving Ruby a full glimpse of him, but she was sure she knew him. Unlike other days, it was a cold morning in Blossom High and a cold breeze flooded the classroom giving it an eerie feeling. At that moment the only sound that could be heard was that of the wind and the popping sound of chewing gum made by the petite girl directly behind Ruby.

“Well could you keep it down popcorn girl we aren’t in a brothel?” Ruby reprimanded.

“Oh so you’ve been to a brothel before.” The petite girl countered more as a statement.

“Uhh…no…I’m making a relation here.”

“Well keep your relations to yourself." The girl said folding here arms and chewing louder.

“I would if you’d just stop chewing like a hoe.” Ruby sung under her breath.

“Well your fugly Dad wasn’t complaining when I was smashing him in your room.”

Ruby whipped around with wide rage filled eyes.

“Take that back you…you…you bitch!” she growled puffing up in her chair.

“Great…it’s bad enough that I’m not going to Australia and now I’m stuck with a bunch of losers who behave like kindergartners.” Brandon cut in as the girls were about to have a show down. Both girls turned towards him and opened their mouths simultaneously to attack him but the words died in their mouths.

“Good morning students I’m Mr. Cyril Okoro and I’ll be your Nigerian referee.” Mr. Cyril said barging into the class, startling the students who jolted towards him since they had their attention elsewhere. They all glared at him instantly but he only smirked back at them.
“Sorry if I startled you, I’m like that you’ll get used to it.”
He took out a file from his bag and scanned it before looking back at the students.
“You’re supposed to be five, who is Ruby Harold?” he inquired fixing his gaze on the two girls in the class. Seconds later Ruby reluctantly raised her hand and he nodded.

“Ok… Erika Turner?”
“That’s me.” Popcorn girl replied instantly blowing a big bubble and letting it pop loudly.” He nodded and continued.

“Brandon Smith?”
Brandon slowly raised his hand frowning like a little child.
“Rory McDonald?”

“Present.”
The other guy at the farthest corner of the classroom replied in a deep British accent. The others turned to look at him and he smiled adjusting his bangs from his eyes. Ruby instantly recognized him as the guy that hit her on the bleachers. She notices the bottomless pit of dimples he had and quickly averted her eyes. She was a sucker for British guys and dimples but will never admit it out loud.
“And that leaves us down to Whitney Adams.” Mr. Cyril finally said.

“Sorry what?”

“Oh hell no.”

“Wait Whitney is in the group going to Nigeria?” Brandon probed before roaring in laughter.
“That explains why she isn’t here, she must have teleported to the planted of hoes never to return.” He added still trying to catch his breath.

“Actually we checked our names on the list at the same time and she fainted when she checked. My guess is she is at the nurses’ station.” Rory confirmed and everyone including Mr. Cyril snorted. Brandon was still laughing hysterically clutching his guts.

“And she had been talking about going to France.”

“Poor thing.” Rory added chuckling.

“I’ll check on her after the meeting, meanwhile here are your manuals for the entire program.” Mr. Cyril began, handing out booklets to the students.
“I want to assume as scholars you know what part of Africa Nigeria is located.” He inquired fixing his gaze on Brandon who only shrugged. The older man arced his eyebrows at the young student wondering how he had gotten this far in his education.

“Don’t look at me I’m just hearing of that place for the first time.” He blurted out and received incredulous looks from some of the students. Ruby quickly raised her hand and stood up.

“Can you ever not portray a perfect example of the stereotypical jock guy? Nigeria is one of the most endowed countries in Africa, with its numerous raw materials and minerals such as tin, gold and so on it is known as the giant of Africa. It is located in the West of Africa to be exact. Did you know Nigeria doesn’t experience any severe natural disasters?” she explained receiving confused stares from the others. She smiled enjoying her power of knowledge over the them.

“I’ll take that as a no. Well that’s a little on Nigeria aka Naija.” She said clasping her hands together, giggling a little before sitting down.

“Ok thank you uhh Ru..ruby for…practically doing my job. Well as we go on this journey, you all will realize that Nigeria is a beautiful and interesting place to be. You all will be enrolled in a regular high school there and you’ll have to live like the students, eat like them, learn like them and many more. Just think of it as camping but in a foreign country.”

“Yeah fresh meat.” Brandon whispered nudging Rory.

“New competition.” Ruby said under her breath.
“Everything you need to know about the high school is in the hand book. Any contraband item brought will be seized before you get on the bus to the airport. Any questions?”

“What kind of school doesn’t allow cell phones or any electronic devices?” Ruby scowled.

“Who names a high school Deconfidence Setters College?” Erika added and Brandon snorted before flipping through his hand book furiously trying to find the page with the name of the school.
He frowned getting irritated by their questions but chose to let it slide. “All your questions will be answered in due time. Well if there aren’t any REasonable questions then I think we can call it a day.”

The students looked at him with bored expressions as he packed up his bag. He gave a half smile to the students before leaving. All he could think of was how his kids back at Nigeria were going to straighten out these ill-mannered delinquents. They were in for a treat.
